Simple but effective. I only float fish for them myself.

Hi Mark, I enjoyed watching the video. Float fishing is a more active approach. Loved the peace at the lake: birds singing, no other anglers, ... well done

Thanks Thomas, A beautiful lake and great fun catching them on light gear.

Hi Mark, You are right up my street. Float fishing is the way to go. I like a center pin loaded with 7 LB mono. The fight on a center pin is something else. Also gives the fish a fighting chance using light gear. Looks a beautiful lake you are fishing.

I've got a center pin but not tried it for carp, that really is a challenge

Hi Mark just found your channel (so subscribed) Really enjoyed this video & the Barbel video. Your approach is similar to mine - much rather fish stealthily & watch a float, than all this bivvy/bite alarms/camping for a week lark!! I think you get more pleasure/enjoyment out of short sessions at opportune times. Hope to see more videos from you, & if I might add, you have a perfect voice for fishing videos - calm & soothing commentary, which makes me feel like I’m actually there fishing! Great viewing.👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻🎣

Hi Ken, thanks for subscribing and your kind comments. I really enjoy short session fishing, with the barbel being my favorite. That said, my next video will be a week in France with friends as you say bivvy/bite alarms etc which the older I’ve got has become less enjoyable. Hopefully we catch a few to make it a good watch 🤞🏻. Fear not they’ll be some more barbel vlogs this year (once the rivers are in better condition).

@@AnAverageAngler Mark, Thank You so much for your kind reply. Really look forward to your carp video from France, I’m sure you’ll catch plenty to keep yourself, & us, entertained, hopefully some real net busters!🤞🏻 Have a great time, stay safe & take care my friend. 👍🏻

Hi mark ,look forward to some more of your videos in future. What rod , reel and line were you using there ?.looked like an older Shakespeare rod which I think is similar to my Korum Allrounder.

Hi Raymond, thanks for subscribing the rod’s a Diawa specialist tench & bream and the reel an old shimano 4000 baitrunner

Really nice film, Thank you. Pretty much all of my carp fishing is now done with float tackle. I'd be interested to know why you didn't fish through the wind. I know its not practical with a tiny bit of peacock quill but on the windward bank of large pits I've found these the very best conditions for float fishing.

Hi Tim, thanks for watching. It was just too windy to fish the float correctly, that said, I have since fished the opposite end when the wind is blowing down there, and caught. I’d love to do more on the float, but most waters available to me it’s hard to find a secluded area.

That place looks gorgeous mark. I have the same problem re finding suitable waters. Re floats for adverse conditions. I favour long ones to defeat both the undertow and surface skim encountered in windy conditions. 12-18 inch home made drift beaters if necessary. I leave 2-3 inches stuck out in really big winds.

I only float fish for them. Simple but effective method with lite balance tackle

It’s a great way to catch them 👍🏻

For all the great fish I’ve caught, nothing, but nothing compares to catching on a float. I guess it’s just because people like myself started before the onset of the modern Carp angler with enough gear to impress an expedition to the Amazon.

I’ll never stop float fishing. Yes I have all the carp gear and do some overnights, but nothing beats a day with the float gear

I enjoyed it mate, great info but if possible could you try to focus your camera during wait times ? I couldn't see the float or the bubbles you were talking about bud.

I’ll try 👍🏻

What bait did you use pal? and do you think anyone can catch big carp on a float rod and float rig with a normal hook size ?
@AnAverageAngler Жыл бұрын
Hi, just sweet corn for bait, and yes, it’s on 10lb line, size 8 hook with 2 grains of corn

Could you edit the sound to lower the birds ?

Not now it’s published, that said I love the birds 👍🏻
