Gotta salute the vision to spot such a creative line

Ryuichi Murai was the FA of this boulder fyi

In my opinion even if this wasnt a v16, this is the most good looking boulder I have ever seen
@chuckz2810 ай бұрын
I always thought the sequence on this boulder was so bizarre. Congrats on such a difficult send!
@Stuj22210 ай бұрын
I think its amazing that this is the easiest/only way to get up this line, esp watching Ryu work out the sequence the first time in his video after thinking he'd just crimp through it. Thats what makes it such a world classic, when people are doing v20 I'll still want to watch climbers send this line
@TrackpadProductions9 ай бұрын
I always wondered why Ryu gave up on the deadpoint to the leftmost hold... until I saw the more direct angle at 0:53. Now? _I get it._

For me one of the most aesthetically pleasing and purest boulder around. Congrats!!! 🙌

For anyone wondering, the song is Purple Haze by Notize. Heavily Burial inspired as others suggested. Also, congrats on the 2nd ascent! Sick line!

Good question, they should have shown the first time he caught the first move if it was ground up
@BoboBish10 ай бұрын
given how upset he was, i'm guessing yes. Poor editing.
@Arithmophobia10 ай бұрын
@@BoboBish I wouldn't say it's bad editing if we are able to tell the situation ourselves, not everything has to shown
@BoboBish10 ай бұрын
@@Arithmophobia no, it's bad. Shows us things we don't want to see at the expense of things we do want.
@Ptitviaud133710 ай бұрын
@@BoboBish It's great editing. We all understood that it's either a burn from the ground or doubt from the athlete "fuck i cant even secure the topout". Showing what you want to see is doesn't makes it art, but a product. The choice from the director to show only the despair from a failed topout is a strong, conscious approach. By the way, great choice of soundstrack.

It seems that the very first move is the key to send the boulder. If you can reach and keep the first hold, 80% of the problem is done.
