Im a new Heli pilot with my first 450 and before reading the comments just watching the video I was thinking WOW this thing is out of setup bad!
@conexn11 жыл бұрын
You need to join a club that fly RC heli's and learn to setup it up correctly. 1. Tracking, tons of comments on this already. 2. Adjust servos so they are at 90 deg, 0 pitch. 3. Rotor speed, adjust rotor head speed, small heli's like around 1500-2500 rpm, 5 blade not sure on so check it out. 4. Adjust the sensitivity on the gyro, looks like it was a bit to high. 5. Check your CG, battery size & placement is key on a heli. Hovering is hard on batteries, cut down flight times, uses more power.

Looks like you DO need a complex 3 axis gyro.
@coriscotupi11 жыл бұрын
Main blades tracking is off. Gyro gain seems excessive. Flying area is too constrained.
@gaetanboiv13 жыл бұрын
@ariechopper I've read the comment you did on these heads. I tried on a 3 blades head like that and with flexible blades , there were constant oscillation. My rpm was low. It is for scale, so no high speed. And I agree, there was a need of a big tracking work.
@SH-ni8sh10 жыл бұрын
Looks good. Lots of lift probably. Your rotors blades look out of line though.
@flyblood204510 жыл бұрын
Lol you remind me when I was a newB :) Be careful rc helis are very dangerous starting from a 450 size and bigger you are playing with fire ! Take care and good luck
@MrData14uk12 жыл бұрын
i like the fact you have a big letter H presumably to take off and land on but dont use it. Also it is a well known fact that the additinal blades have virtually zero benefits over a 2 blade system. my bird flew like this despite being rtf but some careful reprogramming over the next 3 flight has got my running sweet
@markstevens54424 жыл бұрын
Blade tracking is way out so is causing additional vibration, get that sorted first and then try flying the heli a little higher to get it out of it's own rotor wash and ground effect, things will be a lot smoother for you :)
@markstevens54423 жыл бұрын
Just noticed, the first set of blades you had on only work with the rigid rotor head which has no flapping movement in the blade grips, The flex in the blades takes care of that. You have the floating head fitted which has the flapping built into the head so you need to use rigid blades with that one (as you did with your second set of blades) Both heads will work without any V-bar etc so long as you have the right blades fitted ;)
@rigididiot Жыл бұрын
Actually, neither... I have flown all kinds of configurations of unstabilized multiblades in the 450 size, and they all work. They do all respond differently, but they are all flyable without FBL. This dude just cannot fly. Here's a vid of me and a friend, both flying different rotorheads, both flying without FBL electronics. After the 3:40 mark you can see for yourself that they are flyable, not limited to a bit of hoovering only. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qnvPp5eEpceMhJI

Yes, you definitely need to track those blades! Not sure how you would go about doing it though; maybe five different colored pieces of tape. :)
@joshyarbro500212 жыл бұрын
does not need vbar it needs help and a pilot
@ariechopper13 жыл бұрын
Hi, I have the same rotorhead with the flexible blades, try to do some blade tracking bro.
@markstevens54423 жыл бұрын
The flexible blades only work properly with the rigid head. For the floating head you need rigid blades. I have a scale 450 size little bird which has the rigid 5 blade head fitted with the flexible blades, That works fine and I don't have any V-bar etc fitted :)
@acer182712 жыл бұрын
wow your pitch curves really need some attention.
@larsrosing503312 жыл бұрын
Maybe put an angle on the tailrotor 45dgr bend up to put the tailrotor closer to the mainrotor plane. 5 blades gives a relatively large antitorque thus giving the heli a tilted attitude. Best of luck
@shockburn12 жыл бұрын
Forth, blade tracking is so far off i'm surprised this didn't shake apart or crash, you seem to be pretty good at piloting, would like to see you fly a nicely balanced heli! Remember in the building stage, it's all about balance and accuracy,
@TheDirtBiter12 жыл бұрын
Even a Rampant Rabbit doesn't vibrate as much as that! You need to get your blade tracking right and your phasing on the head to benefit from the flapping hinge mechanism. I can see a blade gap of at least 1/2" after 5.50.
@ribasferrari12 жыл бұрын
check the blade track, looks like they are on a multi track.
@WWalter022712 жыл бұрын
You should check your blade tracking, you can clearly see that that tracking needs work.also what's up with the Bobbiing up n down? I though might be that your pitch wasn't enough to lift it but then you took off the ground. What's goin on?
@fatqwert20011 жыл бұрын
ya but think about ducted fans. same principle. i think what your thinking is actually having to do with pitch and airfoil shape. pitch more than 15 deg is said to cause drag and air separation (what your talking about) less than x? deg thers no lift ie aprx 0 pitch in this case. plus he has his throttle and pitch curves incorrect for this setup. i run 85% thr and 4deg pitch in normal mode, for hovering, on a 450 size. for (2 blade)

Been flying 3D for a while myself. I reccomend you to start using a pc simulator, and start gaming on a xbox tbh. Both those things help. I also know they have a drone type of game on xbox, that will help with muscle memory in your fingers. That being said. I strongly recommend starting to fly, whil i a open area.. like a football field ;)
@DylanWintersteen11 жыл бұрын
Cool Build, I like the flexible blades. HOWEVER, When you are such a small scale having more than two blades can actually give you less lift. That's because each blade is following in the others turbulence, so you end up beating the air instead of slipping through it. Though for a 450 you might be ok. I don't really know the math on it.

Does not need V bar, but does need lessons on setting up a heli safely. Man this was painful to watch. I hope you have it sorted, but feel that heli may have gone to the big air-park in the sky by now.

feathering shaf does not exist. The mechanism in which a rubber damper moves freely exists.
@rondolch660811 жыл бұрын
@ 5:30 you can really see how far off the blade tracking is. I'm sure it was a handful to fly. Hope you get it sorted out. Bet that thing, once set up, would do some great autos.

The way the head wobbled around in the beginning, is that normal at startup? Mine does that too, and I always wondered.

@gaetanboiv12 жыл бұрын
By your poor comment, you gave the proof that you never flew anything but 2 blades. Tracking of more than 2 blades is easy and not very long, and if you don't crash, you probably will never have to do it again... But you are right when you wrote that in this video, everything is out, phasing, tracking, brobably balancing too.

Why is there blade flapping in rotor systems?
@markstevens54423 жыл бұрын
Firstly it allows a natural amount of dihedral for stability and it is also there to compensate for the effects of asymmetric lift caused by advancing / retreating blades ;)

Jesus. Never has a heli needed setting up so badly.

judging by the flight attempts it definitely needs a vbar or you need to become more skilled with regular flybarred helicopters before trying to fly this. it looks very unstable.

wow.. a couple things here.. first of all fix your gear mesh and drive train, sounds way too tight mesh and warped. Second, find a field don't test something like this right next to a steel fence (unless you like spending money) Third, your blade phasing looks about 45* off for proper aileron and elevator input.
