Floating Homes | euromaxx

We go to the Waterbuurt West district of Amsterdam to find out about floating homes. Although they follow in the tradition of Dutch houseboats these are quite different - three storey dwellings connected by ramps that offer all the comforts of a modern home. Architects Marlies Rohmer and planner Ton van Nahmen give us the lowdown.

love the idea but not the design because its not weather resistant.. floating plus igloo/round roof (can resist strong wind from every angles) would be nice that even typhoon can resist specially that they are going to bring this design in the Philippines that experience typhoons yearly.

They are more s 't abel and weather resistant than a American house. Because ower regulations are much more strictly than in the US. Even today's regulations in the US are worthless compared to the Dutch regulations.

My theory is to make a planet within the planet like a baloon that has a baloon within maybe its floating also in water or just wheels etc. But the weight from the outside layer should have have more weight so the floor should always be level with the door exit when the water/sea is not making wave yes it can be lock to the same level if its needed to go out for emergency reason.
