An explanation for that, I actually did help playtest this so I had some prior experience, beating monolith before the level came out. However, monolith got buffed a lot after I beat the initial version, so it definitely took me a while. Hardest part was managing to do those jumps without any delay, which is why you see me trying to position myself for so long. Good luck on trying to beat this on MOBILE, would surely be insane. :).

Wow. First I thought was 5 levels in this already incredibly impressive minigame... Then I understood it was actually 6 because tutorial counts as well... Then, while scouring through the editor of this level, I found that the altar was a thing, but even then, I'd never realize that there would be a *whole another way* to beat this level, being much shorter, but much, much more difficult. Is it even a mini, game at this point? You have 8 total levels of varying difficulty and each with an interesting and unique gimmick, an incredibly unforgiving permadeath mechanic, an amazing soundtrack that makes it feel like a genuinely convincing Flashgame, two entire different endings, a menu, a minimap, a credits section, a way to recenter yourself, amazing art, decently long and engaging gameplay..... Yeah, it's a masterpiece. Good Game YoReid, you really made something special... (Edit) Oh my god! I just realized that Floating Maze, is a prequel to Falling Maze, *not* a sequel! *6:23* Look at this part yourself, it's insane! Also, I forgot to say that, but good game man! I can't even dream of getting to the third level, and you're here beating both routes like it's nothing!.. ...Now I'm going back to continue my eternal slumber. Wake me up when Spinning Maze comes out...

I know, it’s insane. But I actually can explain that. I’ve bee, talking with YoReid recently, as well as helping them playtest this, and they explained how they made the controls work by making the movement orientation of the player wave based. So basically, when you’re jumping, it moves like a wave, which is why you’re so floaty, and how the controls manage to be so responsive. YoReid is a genius

I’d go ahead and say it’s as hard as the actual level. It’s not as stressful and time consuming because of how short and easy to access it is, but the difficulty certainly makes up for it. It takes lots of practice to get consistent at all of the jumps, and some of them require you to jump the moment you start moving. It’s that tight

Oh yeah, if you’ve beaten Super Meat Boy you can definitely do this. The grit and tenacity you learn while playing Meatboy is perfect if you want to go through monolith, since that’s exactly what meatboy is, dying and respawning at the beginning of one very hard level

Basically, there's a bunch of hitboxes, obstacles and visuals that are set to follow the position a wave goes in with the jump input and to move horizontally with the other input. The jump mechanic you see here basically is the wave gamemode. Hope that explained it.
