I took a 12 bi fold door and cut it in half. Cut the wood strip out and made the bracing to fit inside. Like you did. Nice job.

Nice idea, but the guy might consider using a pocket hole jig. It would make the 'toe nail' type screw joint much stronger.

Loving this design because if you wanted to put heavier things on them, then all you would need to do is take the sleeves off and re-enforce the joints with metal 90° brackets.

Andrew Roberts yes, I just picked up a piece of 1/4" plywood at HomeDepot. A 4'x4' piece for about $8-$10. Don't use particle board as that will be too rough.

What length screw did you use for the ones that are drilled from the back into the arms that hold the shelf up? Amazing work man!

Jonathan Peckham 3.5” wood screws. I wanted to make sure I made through the sheetrock and into the wall framing enough to be secure. Thanks man, they turned out pretty decent.
