Your tips in the 1st five minutes are very good, practical tips. They will definitely help me avoid some frustrations as I make my first floating teacup. It was really helpful to understand why the cup should not be angled so far back from the saucer. I had not considered that. I especially like the tip of wrapping the fork or whatever with florist'a tape. Actually, there were lot of tips here that I can use. Thank you for sharing!

I am so glad you found the video helpful, let me know how you get on making your cups x ❤️

I did make a floating teacup as an engagement gift! It came out beautifully. It is white roses & rosebuds with leaves, intertwined with iridescent beads. The cup and saucer are white with gold trim, the saucer is covered with moss, and there is a white garden arch/gate (as tall as the teacup. My husband even helped by shaping the fork with his table-mounted vice (making it so easy). I used E6000 glue. Your video was very helpful. I will be doing another soon!

Thank you for sharing how to do these I can't wait to make one. I live in the US and I will be working a Craft Show so I am thinking I may make some of these. I also had a lady at my doctor's office ask me if I do weddings so these would make wonderful centerpieces. My late mom use to live in Blanchardstown on Woodview Grove but she sold her house and moved to the US sadly she passed away at the ripe old age of 94. Again thanks for sharing.

I made my first one today. I used a plastic plate and a bigger coffee cup. And you are correct, it started to tip. So, I used rocks to weigh it down. Also, used hot glue gun and mixed blue food coloring for water and added the flowers. Used glue gun for all of it. Now I know what to use. Thank you for the information. I also, added flowers around the edge of the opening of the cup. It looks good for my first. But, not really sure about the extra flowers on cup.

My 1st attempt was a disaster as I used hot glue & no sooner had it set when it cracked away from the cup & saucer. I'm going to try silicone this time. I've used it before on some outdoor fairy gardens & it was brilliant so I'm hoping it'll do the trick. I can't wait to try your technique x
@DaintyDiaries7 жыл бұрын
I found this too when using the glue gun, I highly recommend the silicone. Keeps them on perfectly x

Hiya Bernie! The best thing to do is let it set over night. try gluing the fork to the base and let that set and then glue the cup to the top of the fork x I let mine set over night.

Looking at your small tea cup; I was wondering if you could do a tea pot pouring into the cup? Maybe it has already been done but yours is the first I have seen. Such a cute idea.
@DaintyDiaries7 жыл бұрын
Yes, that sounds like a fab idea with the teapot. I would say you would have to use something stronger than a fork. Maybe some strong wire from the hardware store x thanks so much for watching x

Hi there I’ve seen your floating tea cup and I wanted to make one for my mum for Mother’s Day. I couldn’t find the green fake foliage but some brown wool and moss basket liner. Do you think this will do instead of the green foliage? Thank you. Anita
@DaintyDiaries6 жыл бұрын
Hi anita, you can position the moss liner and wool on the cup before glueing to see what it looks like. If you are happy with how it looks then go ahead and glue, have fun making them xx

You are better off to use green satin ribbon glued on the fork...eventually floral tape will start to "stink"...
@DaintyDiaries7 жыл бұрын
Aw the floral tape is actually florist tape. Its not from flowers it is like a stretchy craft tape, like washi tape. It has no scent.

Yes, the shops I've gone to are extremely expensive. And I'm not familiar with the names or authenticity of the teacups. I've only recently known the Royal Albert because of your tutorials. I love them so much. I've begun transforming my kitchen 😍. I'm so happy I found your channel.

Hi Catherine, I finally made a floating tea cup. I tried no more nails,e6000 but they didn't work. I finally tried the hot glue and it worked. But we'll see how well it stands up. I love it 💗💗💗

Lots of bubble wrap, which I know isn't ideal for the environment, maybe in a shoe box with recycled paper x
