TUTORIAL : How to shade easy ??

If anyone wanted to know It’s important to NEVER use just light or black for shading/highlights. It’s important to use the complimentary color depending on said light source Yellow light = blue shadows Red light = purple-blue shadows Blue light = yellow shadows Warm lights create cool shadows and cool lights create warm shadows

This is my method of shading too. It’s not that hard. It looks hard in the beginning, but once you do it a few times, it is very easy

Another important aspect of proper shading- know how your subject looks in a 3D space! That way, you know and can properly estimate where the light will fall and how intense it is. For example, our cat here has light even on the cheek away from the light source because the sides of his face and the cheek fluff are further back than the front of his face, and the light source at an angle. The color you’ll shade with depends on the environment. Sometimes you’ll use red, or orange or even green instead of blue. Choose a relatively neutral tone regardless. ALL IN ALL, don’t share with black as light has color, and don’t just airbrush ALL of the shadows because both soft and hard shadows exist.
