Its definitely tied to Mikrokosmos. When they sang "we got to heaven" after "we are not seven with you" they were referring to Army which were referred to as stars in Mikrokosmos. Bts' heaven is not the pearly gates up above but them being surrounded by Army's love.

I think that also RM´s part hits him really closely, for all the hardships about his name (Rap Monster) and everything else, and how he changed it to RM and then Real Me, he accepted himself for who he is. In many interviews boys mentioned that ppl laughed at their group name and boys themselves were ashamed they even didn’t tell their parents when the name was officially chosen. But Kookie said that he always liked the name Bangtan and now all the members agreed that they cannot imagine a different name for them bc Bangtan fits them better than anything else 💜 (and sorry for my English😬)

This song makes me feel ALL the emotions: I'm proud to be ARMY, I'm proud of the hardships they endured and overcame, I'm happy that we have all come this far... and I'm sad because this feels like an ending, or a goodbye. I can imagine this song being sung at their farewell concert, and I can imagine the tears. It also makes me think of the fact that Jin's time is up, and he has to fulfill his military enlistment, and it may be some time before we see all of them together all at once again. In a way, it makes me happy since it gives the boys a little time to take a break from being idols and lets them be normal Korean boys for a bit, but, at the same time, we'll miss them terribly. Ahhhhh, this song gets me in my feels...

When i listen this song I have mixed emotions like you... Other translations of RM's verse indicate how people made fun of their name Bangtan Sonyeondan so they were ashamed of it sometimes. (Which is also true.) I'm not Korean so I don't know which translation is true but I think this explanation fits the more unified experience reflected in the rest of the track. Such a beautiful song. So I‘ve been a fan of bts for a long time now. I found them 2015 and when I heard the song for the first time and read the lyrics, it hits me. Especially the part when they sang: „We are, we are forever bulletproof.“ Because it doesn’t only remember me of We are bulletproof pt1&2 but also on the old days. When they still had they old sign and BTS means: bulletproof boyscouts and not beyond the scene but I think it’s still bulletproof boyscouts. (I remember, at first I didn’t like the new sign much and thought it was only a rumor but then I began to like it) a year or couple of months ago, Namjoon said in a interview: „we are still the same, still bts. Still bulletproof boyscouts.“ And this reminds me of the song too, „we are forever bulletproof.“ BTS were my first group I liked and get me into Kpop and i was through ups and downs with them even before they get so famous. And even tho they changed and they music changed, I’m still a fan of them. Even tho I don’t like every song anymore but they still make good music and some songs are still so great. They get so far and I’m so proud of them.
