Ateez is the only group I stan. Their music is so unique that I’ve decided they are their own genre, and their performances and MVs are beyond amazing. That and they come across as so relatable and down to earth, all with their own unique quirks that it’s impossible not to love them. And if they sing at your wedding I want to be invited too 😂 lol.

Hongjoongs study and love of different artists really shows when composing. I was shocked when I saw the cover he did for Numb. It's one of my favorite Linkin Park songs. Just as an example. 😊

@@lunerlilly that cover of Numb is literally one of my favorite MVs ever. Also I love his cover and interpretation of “Last Christmas”. I’d go so far as to say I love it more than the original and I literally have never like a single cover of that song because I find them all to be cringeworthy. And Ateez’s cover of Justin Bieber/kid laroi’s “Stay” is another I repeat religiously 😂(I don’t like the original at all). I’m always so thankful for Hongjoong, while Ateez wouldn’t be Ateez without all eight of them, it would never have existed without his perseverance and our boys may never have debuted at all or been scattered amongst other groups. I can honestly say as much as I’ve enjoyed different groups and solo artists in my life, I’ve never found a group whose music I’ve truly loved even remotely to the degree I love Ateez 🤗❤️

Ateez is my number one group and you are seeing a lot of the reasons why. They are so relatable, so passionate about what they do, and also so very in love with their Atinys! After one of the awards shows at the end of last year, I think it was, they got a fan award and an industry award. Both Hongjoong and Seonghwa got onto livestreams with Atiny right after the show, not even stopping to take off their makeup or get comfortable, (Hongjoong got on as he was walking into his hotel room and sat on the floor with us for part of it), and both of them wanted to share that moment directly with their Atinys. We are so proud of them. We love them so very much. And that love is returned and it's not the same way that a lot of western artists will do it. These guys don't just stand on stages, wave, and say "thanks to all my fans" and then go off and party with just the pretty people. These guys love US. They made songs for US, their Atinys. They talk to us and radiate that love back to us. When they were still very new and came back to the US as part of the promotion for one of the Treasure albums, they did a social media call for Atiny to join them at a New York park for a video shoot. They wanted fans to be in the video with them, and the guys were SO worried that no one would be there. They were nervous and fretful and so afraid that no one would show up. And seeing their faces absolutely light up when they saw several hundred American Atiny waiting for them... it made me tear up so much. I won't admit if I actually cried or not. I will always tune in if I can, when one of them is live and if I can't watch them live, I often turn on a YT version of a live and just listen. If I can't sleep, I go find one of Seonghwa or San's lives. They have so much love in their voices that it helps me to sleep or at least relax some. When I have a bad day, these guys can make me smile. If I need a hug, they (and Chan from Stray Kids) give me the verbal hugs that take the place of real hugs. They are just absolutely wonderful human beings.

As an Atiny since the Wave era; it's almost impossible to have a lane and stay in your lane as an Atiny. I started off as a Hongjoong and Wooyoung biased Atiny, then Yunho weezled his way in, followed by Mingi. After that, it was easy for San, Seonghwa, Yeosang and Jongho to slide their way in as well. At this point I just call myself an OT8 stan and call it a day. Honestly, over the years ATEEZ has meant a lot to me, to a point that I have two tattoos for them. I have the compass/leader mark on my leg (because I fell in love with it from the very first time that I saw it) and after finishing my Laws-degree (about 2 years ago now) I got a butterfly tattooed that Hongjoong once drew on a backpack during the THANXX era (partly for Dancing Like Butterfly Wings being one of my favorite songs by theirs and because I could unpop myself like a butterfly during my studies). Needless to say that those two probably won't be my only ATEEZ tattoos. They have been on of my favorite k-pop groups for a long while now and it has been a honour to see them grow into the power-house that they have become today.

This is my third time watching this part of the guide with you. First, your pausing skills are on-point! You perfectly pause and unpause every time. You’re a really awesome reactor and seem very genuine! Secondly, thank you for appreciating Seonghwa. I am so glad that you are getting to know ATEEZ, welcome to the ship. ATEEZ is my ULT group, I have a Yeosang & San bias, but everyone else plays wrecker specifically Hongjoong, and Yunho. I am obsessed with their storyline and how you can really hear their sound evolve when listening to their discography in chronological order. I have been fortunate enough to see them live in Chicago back in Novemeber 2022, it was my first kpop concert. No regrets, the boys now how to put on a show.
