It’s weird to me that Video Copilot and Red Giant both figured out ways to incorporate 3D objects, particles, etc WAY before Adobe got around to doing it natively. I’d like to see how Maxon develops the Geo effect in parallel to Adobe’s native tools now

Explanation : About 3 years ago in a School of Motion podcast episode the Adobe dev team for After Effects was ONLY 8 developpers. Adobe's net income was $ 5.4 BILLIONS in 2023. You get it now? Fact is that Adobe's management just doesn't give the SLIGHTEST shit about Ae :)

@@flo.motion Because the AE 3D space wasn’t advanced enough. Same as Vectors in 3D are peanuts, but AE still hasn’t figured it out. The fact that it took 12Y for adobe to catch up, shows once again that there isn’t anything really innovating in their apps

We’re 7 month’s in 2024. Second update where there isn’t really anything “innovative”. 3D tools that everyone who wanted to work with 3D in AE already could do in Element 3D or C4D since 2012, took then 12y to catch up with Andrew Kramer on that one, some new presets, … Last update was literally being able to color your keyframes, once again longe over due, not really a big innovation, nor “update release” worthy…. What the hell are they even doing at HQ?? What a joke

thank you!! The great think about this that most of you are missing, is that this is native 3d. So you can add text, layers and as many 3d objects and lights as you wish and it is all in one 3d space! This simply was not possible before even with Element.

@@flo.motion I do understand that 100%. And I agree that the update is cool, but long overdue. The Cineware implementation that lets you use Cinema4D Lite for free & renders in AE, was added in 20013. The camera tool, 3D layers & the abikity to have a 3D composition dates even before Creative Cloud! The fact that for almost 12Y, they did not have these features to add 3d objects natively in AE is absurd. Adding them now and pretending it is an “innovation” or something “new” is Adobe Marketing Tactics to cover up the fact that it should’ve been added a long time ago & there is actually no new tech involved. The enthusiasm from creators comes more from the “Finally” reaction that people have & the frustration that it wasn’t possible before.
