It takes absolutely zero courage to post Western propaganda. Try telling folks that the Global South is more indebted to the West, than to China - and we will talk about courage then. Where is European or American debt trap talk? Nowhere! The loans these nations give out often carry the most aggressive terms. In fact we know for a fact that should Western Institutions be willing to restructure debt, many nations will see their prospects get better. These institutions are vultures and all of them sit in the West. You can watch Jayati Ghosh's talk on the topic rather than follow this same old propaganda.

As a Pakistani, it sucks to see my salary being reduced to less than half in a year. I don't even know if I can keep my cash in local currency for even 2 months because I don't know when it will go valueless like Zimb/Ven/SL. Taxes are being pushed up for salaried people like us while rich people can still walk free from taxes because real estate investment is a common way for rich to hoard and increase their money, and almost everyone's a part of it. Right now, I am skipping anything fancy to keep bare minimum going. I am now keeping candies instead of meat/fruits so that I don't have to each much during the day as every food item is getting expensive. Vegs like tomatoes which can't last more than two days are of 1/200th of my monthly salary. People who can escape from Pakistan are running away. and people are still silent over this and are supporting their politicians over meaningless fights. they all had their rules, and nobody could turn the tide for people of Pakistan except for short-sighted 'subsidies'. I am now actively looking for a remote job to switch salary into USD to pad things up a little. Many of my senior colleagues have already gone this way. Else I could probably end up as one of many famine victims in near future.

I got on a taxi in Frankfurt some years ago. The Pakistani driver greeted me with where I was from and learning that I came from England but originally grew up in Hong Kong, he told me that China 🇨🇳 is a true friend of Pakistan. I wonder if the Pakistanis still share that opinion after Khan is ousted and natives have discovered the CCP’s debt trap to take over their sovereignty. The disingenuous smirk on Winnie the Xi’s face tells it all! I am From Pakistan and surprisingly every topic and reasons you mentioned were 100% true.. The main problem is local citizens needs to be educated at the same level to understand the game our politicians are playing with us. As you said they provide with short term solution to keep citizens happy rather than solid long Term strategy
@flint8173
@flint8173 Жыл бұрын
Facts bro, I am also a Pakistani and i totally agree with you. We need to educate our citizens and make them understand that every politician is playing a game and its not like one of them is a God-loving honest man who is trying to fix Pakistan while the others are "CHOR". Another problem i think i should mention is the INFLUENCE of our army in Parliamentary things, it is and will cause ALOT of problems as many high-positioned generals are also corrupt and this is not a hyperbole, they fking stole BILLIONS OF RUPEES and it was proved by many people. Pakistan can easily grow if there is Political Stability and there are educated citizens. Only if the country was ACTUAL Democracy (not like today's Pakistan or any other western country). In conclusion, if Pakistan wants to grow higher than expected than it needs to fix the following problems: 1) Political Instability 2) Literacy rate 3) Buisnesses setup by Overseas Pakistanis can be done here, that way, the country can actually have a chance of developing and remittances shouldn't be corrupted and be raised. It can actually have a good effect in the economy (i say this as i was living 12 years aka. my Childhood overseas) 3) Corruption, THE WORST PROBLEM FOR PAKISTAN AND IS VERY HARD TO CRACK AS EVERY CORRUPT PERSON IS INTERLINKED WITH OTHER CORRUPT PEOPLE. 4) Debt mismanagement, High inflation and unemployment (as mentioned in this video) 5) After Corruption, I think THE SECOND BIGGEST FACTOR IS our army's influence. They only look for their own interest and have no intention of fixing Pakistan. Lastly, Even if a PM's intention is to actually fix Pakistan, if it doesn't meet Pak army's interests and they think it could be a threat to their power, they can Oust the specific person

Unlike most KZbinrs and Media houses that are biased and politically motivated, your assessment was on point and these are ground realities here in Pakistan. @majinvegetaPS3
@majinvegetaPS3 Жыл бұрын
I was born in Pakistan too (just born...thank god), its not China's fault. Pakistan enjoys taking out credit card loans from IMF all the time and then has difficulty when it comes to pay back. Maybe Pakistan needs to look in the mirror and understand to live within its means just like the rest of the world instead of giving subsidies for everything and military personnel free gas, free cars, free housing. What the hell? even U.S. army generals don't get that. And the people are so ignorant, everyone complains at rising tax rates yet no one likes to pay it. How do you think a country is supposed to run itself if no one wants to support it? I live in Canada and I have to pay 36% tax of my income, I make over 200k, so thats a lot of money. Not to mention everything we buy is also taxed. I have made trips to Pakistan over the years, and for the past 30 years, this country has had electricity shortage, and it still hasn't changed. What progress has this country made in 30 years? not much in my opinion. Always just trying to "survive". If the people of that country paid 1 rupee each per day, you'd have 200million+ rupees per day. Pay your taxes, work honestly, stop the corruption, and watch how Pakistan will dig out of the hole that the people have dug themselves into. Blaming others is really easy, but what we really need is to look in the mirror. And I don't understand how a country can call itself a country if it is dependant on others for survival.

You have covered well but completely left out the real reason for Pakistan's woes... its their obsession with Kashmir. Pakistan buys Indian goods at very high prices via arab nations instead of trading directly over the shared border, all this to show the general public that there is no trade with the enemy India. They can reduce their import bill by a good amount, if only they took the rational decision to trade with India instead of far off countries. Also, Pakistan spends a large chunk of its budget on millitary and justifies this using enemity with India as an excuse. This enemity is maintained artificially by Pak intelligence agencies and millitary by carrying out terror strikes in India.

As an Indian who lives literally in middle of South Asia, I have seen what devastation Chinese loans have caused to our neighbours. China indeed has a blank checkbook from which they give endless loans to countries with zero oversight. The only catch is they don't care if their loans would be productive investments or not. If productive good , if not then no worries, they would get more control over that country so much so that it has to lease its assets to the chinese.I hope BRI countries learn this lesson.If you want to take loans take from the west or other banks because the terms and condition of those loans give a proper trajectory to growth. Just like how India took IMF loans in 1991 with strict conditions and now it is the 5th largest economy in the world.

Even though I’m from India, i feel bad for Sri Lanka and Pakistan. When we were taught about basics of economics in school, Debt trap concept was taught with example of how India‘s neighbours were borrowing money from China. We knew about the debt trap back in 2007 and 15 years all the lessons are becoming true. Not just China damaged its own economy but all others as well.

I appreciate your coverage of topics that KZbin considers controversial (even though the topics are literally economic realities), I hope you continue successfully. 👍 Requesting you to consider fading out the background beats a little more, especially between 2min and 6min, the sharp pings kept distracting away from your voice.

Business basics ? oh yea, this channel hints that ... war is a business for US profit, military-industrial complex is designed by the ancestors of US... that's why our US ignores our own domestic issues and keep invading Iraq, Syria, Afghan and interfere with the internal affairs of China and Russia
