A return to my Nemesis local lake but this time with a bit of a difference as all the swims were flooded and we had to wild fish off the pegs

Reminded me of a night in heavy rain, was woken by a wet arse and the sight of tackle boxes floating by my bed chair. Lake had overflowed and I was pitched in a nice small depression.... At least I didn't have the curry to worry about! Cracking vid Maff.

@@MaffTUK it wasn't so much a nightmare as abject misery with a dollop of utter despair loaded on top. Some context to describe that night, as I remember it vividly. I was 18, no car, was dropped at a lake in the Colne Valley by my parents. It was 1977, no mobiles. My bed chair was a proper 2 legged sun lounger. Heron bite alarms, Mitchell 300,'s. In the middle of the night I found myself in the lake, no longer beside it! Cooking gear rucksack all underwater. I waited shivering until 8 am to walk to a phone box and call for help. The date was famous....it was the night Elvis died in Aug 1977!! I kid you not.

Class video! One of your best. Yes .... it can get a trifle moist there. Has flooded worse years ago and fish moved between lakes. Can't wait to see you catch in Kellet ..... must eventually happen. Was Kents Bank any better? Can imagine the Bream, Tench and small Carp in the Scrape being washed into there!

I didnt get a chance to look at kents Bank to be honest but the lads fishing on the syndicate lake had to wade through over a foot of water to get up to the main car park as i was told by one of them so there probably was a bit of cross contamination pretty much unavoidable. This was a fun video to make, we knew we were up against it but if im going to get a bleeding carp out of this lake then im going have to be in the water, all part of the fun Steve its going to be a fine day when i get my carp , LOL regards Matt

@@MaffTUK Comes from experience, I ate a Dorset Naga raw a few years back they are about 1.2million shu but raw and whole...my whole head was on fire!! Milk didn't really help so went in search of a cure, plain old white sugar quelled the fire instantly. Only lasted a few minutes though before more was needed, seems to do something to the old taste buds I guess that's why restaurants sell sweet Lassi with a hot curry. I love the taste hit a good hot chilli gives.
