In EU we have different types of floor matts, with a cushioned perimeter and built in drains ( works a lot better on an inclined floor ).

Ahh so does one side of the mat on low part of incline have a larger "wall" or lip? How/where do drains work out of curiosity

@@HawkProDetailing the walls are 10 cm high around the perimeter. The water is sucked by a water pump. But this method is used on demonstration days, professionals by law they need wash bays... In EU chemicals regulation are very strict

Nick! Your videos are always relevant to what I'm looking at/looking for. Currently looking for the best solution for containment mat so I can wash inside the shop. Thanks!!

Yeah man, I feel like if you use a shop vac or extractor at the end the mat is a good solution

In my two car garage with no floor drain, I put two of these down, overlapping by a foot. I mostly rinseless wash but if pressure wash too, i still end up with 10 gallons or more on in the mats. I use my shop vac wet vac and in 10 mins or less water is gone. Down side is possible slipping under feet.

Yeah I did slip a bit. And I don't mean to be a hater because if you didn't have these mats...it would be a disaster in your garage right? Im just not sure they make sense for my shop...especially with a drain. How are they holding up by the way?

@@HawkProDetailing agreed, I’d have to much water on the floor without them. One is a year old, the other about 4 months but holding up. I watch for stones in fear of a puncture. I’d prefer a floor drain any day though.

Nick, gotta think an oversize kiddie pool would probably have better results. drive the car into it..inflate so the sides become the retention...and then drag it outside and empty it......Can't be any more cumbersome than what you just went through.

I mean I DID order the truck size lol. And it did what a reclamation mat should do? As a mobile guy getting a wealthy clients driveway stained with iron remover is bad news...but man, what the heck am I supposed to do with all that water lol. Needless to say my guys in the shop have let it sit in the corner...the logic is...that looks like more work than it's worth

Great review Nick. Seems like a huge waste of time if you have a busy shop.

I don't have one but just from watching your video it seems like allot of trouble. Be quicker to just squeegee the water into your drain that's so close. Just my thoughts.

For sure ...in my shop. I think they do have a place though for other folks in different situations
