In Japanese English, “b!tch” means “slut.” Albedo is a succubus, so naturally she’d be described as being promiscuous. So Momonga changed that line to being in love with him. How she treats the others is because she’s the leader of the Floor Guardians; ranking above them, she can order them around.

In Japanese English, though, they use the word b-i-t-c-h in the same sense as slut.

In this context, when you call someone a b!tch it can either be a catch-all insult or mean that they complain a lot and are rude when they do it. If you say that someone is b!tching at you it means they are complaining to you and being very inconsiderate whilst doing so. On the other hand, slut is a word that describes someone's promiscuity, which can be about how they dress or how they act (having sex with a lot of different people.) In short, b!tch is about describing someone's attitude and rude behavior towards others, whereas slut is about describing someone being generally promiscuous. I hope that helps clear things up a bit!

So in the Guardians and all the tombs npc's eyes, they were always sentient and alive even when it was only a game, it was just the players that didn't view it that way, so they experienced every player leaving and their conversations of how everything was ending, so they have some grasp of it being a sorta game and it ending and them being in a new " era " now

Fun fact: The reason Momonga was so dazzled by the night sky is because in his real life outside of the game of Yggdrasil, the earth as of roughly around year 2126 has become overly polluted by massive corporations and their industrialization to the point that no one can see the blue sky in the day or the stars in the night. Humans can't even go outside without lung protection and only for 30-60 minutes at a time.

@@albino5301 Light novel lore bro. Check out the channel Dr. Anime, they do anime audiobooks and have all of the currently existing Overlord volumes in a playlist from 1 - 14 I think. The anime skims over quite a bit so I'd highly recommend them. Be warned though there is a LOT of content, like 8 - 11 hours per volume.

To Sheera's point: I think it's less that they're aware that Momonga stayed until the game was gonna shut down, and more that he was the last of their creators that stayed together with them. Either that or maybe they thought their world was ending. There are times when he does bring up Yggdrasil, but I still think they see it as the world they came from rather than knowing it was a game. I say this as someone who's only seen the anime and hasn't watched it in a while. So correct me if I'm wrong.

Just to add some lore about the LN and the reason why Aura and Mare are dressed like that: Buku Buku Chagama hated that male players was always trying to look under the NPC's skirt that she designed, so to troll the players she switched the outfit for Aura and Mare so when male players look under Mare's skirt they would see big Bonga Dongos, and fun fact...Buku Buku Chagama also is a very popular voice actress of porn games and she is Peroroncino's sister (the one who created Shaltear Bloodfallen).

yggdrasill was a game with an incredible level of personalization where the players could shape their guild home how they wanted and create their own NPCs to defend it and setting behaviours for them, they could also add a "background" but that was just roleplaying, until now, so the majority of NPCs you see around nazarick were created by the guild members like the three demigods that were with demiurge also when they say "supreme beings" they refer specifically to the guild members in case it wasn't clear

Not sure if this was explained to you guys already but imma do it here anyway because i love this show and know waaaay to much about it xD All the Guardians were created by different members of the guild and reflect their personalities. Examples: Sebas was created by Touch Me (which was short for You Will Never Touch Me because he was a GOD in pvp apparently) and he was really into helping the weak and protecting people. The Twins were created by Bubbling Teapot a girl who was really into otokonoko what is basically really feminine guys and cross dressing. Shaltear was created by Peroronchino who was just a degenerate perv who like eroge so stuffed Shaltear with a bunch of really fucked up fetishes xD Its also pretty cool to note that all the Guardians are either named after something or are references to something. Cocytus for example is one of the River in Greek Hell (Tartarus) and featured in Dantes inferno as the Level of hell traitors and betrayers were sent to freeze for eternity which is why he has ice powers and the level of Nazarick he guards is frozen. Yes i am a nerd for Overlord. I eat this shit up. Super happy you guys are reacting to it again :) I hope you enjoy it

So Ain's spell perfect warrior isn't explained that well in the anime. It changes all your stats into those of a warrior class but you have no warrior skills and can't use magic while in that form. You can however equip any items without class restrictions and use their special effects. So it basically allows you to change from using spells to using special weapon skills.

The characters were alive in a sense that they saw the MMO like we see reality, so they know they are in a different world, but unaware they are from a video game. The guild were like gods walking among them so Ainz is the only one who didn't leave them. Any talk between players they heard, but didn't understand, literally "He's speaking the language of gods"

I’m sure someone has already mentioned this, but basically, because Ainz was transported from the game world, him and his allies are playing by MMO rules in terms of their leveling scale, so Ainz is like level 100, but he’s been transported to a D&D style word where the most powerful people in the world are topping out at level 20 or so. The light novels make this much more explicit, because they include character sheets for major characters.

Loved the reaction. And NPCs remeber the game, but for them it was real. They even remeber other players invading nazaric and killing them. And just know that ainz's original world was a dystopian world, and Ainz lost his mom at age 12 while she was cooking him his birthday cake, and then right afterward he had to go to work, because otherwise he would have been another dead orphan in street. (there was a lot of those.)

3:27 fun fact: the reason Shalltear likes Momonga is that she is a necrophilliac. Her creator Peroroncino made it so her type is "a pure white skeleton with immense power and unyielding resolve" so she genuinely believes Momonga to be the very definition of beauty. Funny enough, she was also made to counter Ainz in every way. The reason for that may be that Peroroncino and Momonga used to be best buds so he probably included those settings as a joke. But also, almost every being in Nazarick loves Ainz in every sense, including romantic. Especially floor guardians, those guys would rush to gobble up his bone if he were to order them so and be the happiest they've ever been in their life.

In other words, they just spawned in a random real universe. We have knowledge that there were other players in the past centuries of the New World, and they died, as far as we know.

And when you die, you are fully dead dead, unless someone resurrects you or you have an resurrection item with you. If it was a game, they could resurrect normally. The fact that he isn't stuck in a game is a consensus in the Light Novel community too, the author always talked about it as it's not a game anymore.

According to the NPC‘s Yggdrasil Online was their world, and the Supreme beings (we call players) explored/played and existed within that world. But as far as the NPC‘s are concerned, the Supreme beings were literal Gods who went to different worlds/plains of existence all the time. Because as you know, when you play a game and there are NPC’s…if you log out you disappear from the world. All of the NPC’s that exist within the Great Tomb of Nazarick were created by Ainz and his comrades/guild mates. Their race, armor, weapons, looks, and even personality were created by the other Supreme beings. So they are their literal Gods. When the game was ending, I would imagine that the game developers had some world-ending event in place tied to the server shut down. The NPC’s would have been programmed to know about this in-game world-ending event. Ainz was the leader of 40 other Supreme beings (players) who followed him willingly. Not to mention that as far as the other NPC’s are concerned, Ainz is the only other Supreme being (guild member) who chose to stay while knowing that the world was ending. The NPC’s love and worship him even more for that reason. They literally exist to serve The Great Tomb of Nazarick/Supreme beings, without Ainz, they would have no one to serve, and no other reason to exist.

Ydrassil online had absolutely ludicrous levela of customisation for things and the guild ainz ooal gown poured their resources into turning their guild hall, the tomb of nazerick, into a full on raid dungeon with 10 floors of different challenges and npcs to fight. Each of the floor guardians is basically a hand crafted raid boss they created to guard the tomb. Their personalities and such are a mix of their creators personalities, such as the elf and vampire fighting in a similar manner to the brother and sister who created those npcs, and the "fluff" lore that they wrote into the npcs bios, such as albedo being in love with momonga because he rewrote the last line of her bio using admin priveleges before the shutdown

You guys should check out the English dub at some point. Chris Guerreo does the voice of Momonga/Ains and he has such a great and awesome voice. It is real funny as he does the same voice in Miss Kuroitsu and just hearing him spouting generic Office type tropes is hilarious.
