Floor has a special ability beyond just her voice, and this isn’t my theory…she’s said this herself….she is an empath. She can draw the emotions out of song lyrics,really genuinely feel them while she’s singing, and then express them back to an audience so they feel those emotions, too. On another episode of this same program Emma Heesters (the girl in red in this video) sings a song for Floor. It’s called Strong, and it’s a song Floor wrote for her mother back when she was in After Forever. Emma’s performance is so beautiful, and the song is so personal for Floor, that it brings Floor to tears. I’d recommend that. I’d also suggest from this same Beste Zangers program Floor and Henk Poort performing Phantom of the Opera, as well as a Henk singing Sounds of Silence for Floor.

Our Dear Floor, we Dutch are so PROUD of her. I certainly do. 😇 She's so humble...her Voice too. There are many singers who are good, but Floor has many genres and styles in what she sings. This is a Dutch Show *De Beste Zangers* They are all singers who sing a song for each other. The Main Guest sits on the couch next to the Host-Presentator JAN SMIT, who is also a singer. He lives in my hometown VOLENDAM in the NETHERLANDS around the corner 🥰 This isn't a competition, and the singers don't know what's being sung. There is so much more. She choses her cover songs based on what she likes and cares about as a wonderful and caring woman. So much talent so much empathy and sympathy for human and animal well being. This was not a competition show. Just a great show where singers sing for each other in tribute. Quite emotional and so much better than our stupid shows in the USA. See you soon.

I recommend you check her channel, lots of good stuff there. Floor is one of very few vocalists that can make me feel emotions in music. It is like she feels it so immensely when she sings it, she is high sensitive, then she can radiate it straight to the listener, even on KZbin. She is the best.

A song where she could easily showcase her vocal capabilities at the fullest.... yet she deliberately chooses to keep it small and delicate, as to not outshine the girl (who also covered this song) for whom she is singing it...and still it is the most beautiful and heartfelt version I ever heard (and this is coming from a die hard Lady Gaga fan!)... Floor has some marvelous covers on her KZbin channel! Oblivion is another great cover, from the Tom Cruise movie by the same title. There is also some amazing ballads she sings with Nightwish, "Sleeping Sun"...." Dead Boy's Poem." My favorites are "The Greatest Show on Earth" .... " Elan " ..... " Endless Forms Most Beautiful" ( I prefer the official Lyrics video...it is more entertaining )....and for a complete trip down the NW rabbit hole....do some research first and then listen to " The Poet and the Pendulum! " ( make sure to have tissues ready! )

Purity in her voice? Yes, Floor has told the world that she is a "highly sensitive person" and with that comes the need to express the song the same way she feels it. She has admitted that she can't focus at any one specific spot of the audience while onstage because if she sees anyone crying, she'll go too. She needs to find quiet locations like a park or the woods when they are on tour because that is her way of grounding herself and keeping in touch with nature. She does it often at home, especially when returning from a tour or playing shows in locations that are too far from nature. I guess now with that being said, you understand how Floor decides how to sing a song and why sing it the way she does.... Because she wants the listener to feel what she feels, but because she is highly sensitive, she is the only singer I know that can bring me to tears when she sings. It's almost like she's letting you inside her head. She also recently felt the need to lash out because of some show cancelations due to the reactions to the covid variants. That's understandable, especially when you have been looking forward to these shows after they've approved travel and access to these venues. Then, suddenly, the politicians decide to have you postpone the shows for the safety of the public because of these new variants. As it is, they were supposed to start touring in 2020 in support of the "Human :II: Nature" release in April, same year, but the show I'm going to in NYC was moved from November 2020, to October 2021, now to May 2022.... I can certainly understand where it becomes frustrating.... even for someone as mellow, and litterally down to Earth, as Floor. The Nightwish Army can only wait and hope their shows don't get canceled altogether with all this rescheduling. Thank you for the video, reaction and comment. Stay safe and stay blessed. 😊❤🤘🤘

Love this cover by Floor. It is a soul snatcher. If you're looking for something a bit faster/heavier than Nightwish, I highly recommend Canadian band Unleash The Archers. The musicians are insane and lead singer Brittney Slayes is a powerhouse. If interested, check out their song Awakening (full band playthrough). It's chapter 1 in a 20 chapter, 2 album story(10 chapters per album) in a fantasy/sci-fi story about an Immortal Being. I'll give you a more in depth cover of the story after if you decide to do it. No pressure though haha 🤘🇨🇦

Yes, Floor is rather impressive, though she is not my favorite vocalist. But let me explain. I like a timbre that is in a little lower register than Floor's soprano - say Haley Reinhart*. And Diana Ankudinova** has a unique register that is attractive (contralto). All three are different genres basically but what sets all three above is their command of their instrument. Floor, far and away seems to give a masterclass every time she sings. Is there any genre she can't sing? She's also very accessible which is such an attractive character trait for any artist. So with this song, she secured me as a fan of her artistry. It just like metal is not a genre I have any interest in adding to my playlist even though I feel that Wacken 2013 Ghost Love Score might be the greatest live footage ever recorded it doesn't make me desire to hear more of their music (not that I haven't listened to some other works - Ever Dream I like because it incorporates back up from Marco). This performance is on my playlist (as are a couple of others from this project). She had speech challenges when she was a toddler from her mother abusing her and they used singing to help her talking, so she's been doing that since 4. Her adoptive family has always been supportive of her, gotten her vocal teachers, acting lessons and taken her all over Russia for competitions. Pretty much she's won every one she's been in except of course The Voice Kids which she didn't make it past the audition because they didn't know what yodeling was. A life lesson which now she doesn't regret. But her music doesn't represent her age/peer group and so mostly older people show up at concerts. There is another young artist who is about her age who's got 2.5 M subs, sings Pop, an influencer and while she has talent doesn't have the kind of voice Diana does. (Her name is Arina Danilova.) Hope you'll take advantage of my suggestion and check Haley out. Not so much the link I gave you but rather something from another time - either some of performances on Am Idol or the commercial she sang for Extra Gum (Can't Help Falling in Love). Haley's has had the good fortune and talent to become a voice actor (F is for Family - a Bill Burr joint) and a movie actor (We Can Be Heroes). And her voice has a lot of jazz and rock influences. She grew up singing in her parents rock band, with songs of the 60s & 70s (Jeff Airplane, Buffalo Springfield. Blind Faith etc.). Just to get a feel if you need. I really have little doubt even if you never reactor to her, you'll like her music. Just a little side note about her time on AI - she had three firsts - 1. she sang a jazz duet (Moanin) where a part of the song was scatting, 2. had her father featured on guitar on the Zeppelin song, What Is and What Should Never Be and 3. lastly, fell on her ass while performing the song. @@chardonnay5767 Sit on the floor Floor is nearly perfect English and Dutch. Pretty sure you are Dutch too, but it is difficult when people decide to use a pseudonym. Jansen is difficult for native English speakers, since in Dutch the J is silent like a Y. The vollowing vowel a is also a problem since it is basically pronounced as a "u" as in "but". The Dutch "u" is a formidable vowel since it has different sounds depending on context. In "ui" (=onion) there is no similar sound in English. "Lul" (=dick) has the u sounding like a silent e. "Buurt" (=neighbourhood) has no equivalent sound in English and I could go on and on.
