We always had our kids help us, whatever we were doing. It always astonished me to see able-bodied teenagers sit on picnic tables, bored, while their parents set up or took down the camp for the weekend. Your kids will be proud to have taken part of building your home. The skills they learn there will last them for the rest of their lives, as will their confidence.

You know what I love this home is made with love from the whole family, just as it did when it was 1st built. So wish we all could do this as A lot of people can learn from you all 💪⚘💏

Really love the vibe of this video. Some of the best days are the whole family working together outdoors. Y’all are building a home - and memories your children will remember fondly (along with #skills that will last them a lifetime) 😊

Margie we are pretty sure that the original home was built by the Webb family and then owned by their family for 100 years. It feels right to be remodeling and adding on the same way ❤️

My dad always let the teenager that mixed the portion of cement for that section we were working on put their name in the cement just before it dryed. We worked so hard mixing just so we could put our name down. Dad was smart. He always knew how to make us have fun while working. Lol
@JamiRayVintage4 жыл бұрын
Yumiko DeBold Zeb didn’t let me put my name in it lol. But I am so using this as motivation for my kiddlets

So much hard work but so worth it. Jami I know how hard you’re working even if the camera misses it. We’ve built & projected our entire married years. I’m not as adept at construction but I’m always out helping hubby....he says the extra pair of hands are very needed. We just rehabbed my childhood home (dad passed) and living here. It’s too small for us long term but I don’t know if I have the strength to built again. Husband wants to...we’re 60 now. Enjoy your life, it goes so quickly. A home for your family is awesome!

We live outskirts of Dallas and we go at least once a week. It’s so much fun to walk around and look at all the home decor stuff...although my husband looks at all the BBQ stuff 😂. It’s a win-win. I ordered some paint and you “let’s stay home” stencil during your last home shopping live video. Can’t wait to put it to use!

It is pretty big. On the main level it has a two car garage, family room, large bedroom with an en-suite. Upstairs it has the master bedroom with en-suite and a separate walk in closet, a bathroom for the kids, laundry, 3 more bedrooms and a playroom that could easily be turned into a bedroom if we need it to be one.

question...why there is a big empty space between the joists...and what is going to be the floor...
@davemarevka15544 жыл бұрын
Why is the rim joist bolted to the inside of the wall as opposed to sitting on top of the wall?
@JamiRayVintage4 жыл бұрын
It’s the way the engineer set it up so we could match the level of the floor with the old 1917 home without having to excavate the whole yard to have proper grading around the addition.
