One pad I don't see are the "dark blend" hog hair pads (3M 3700 or Americo Porko Extreme) or as I call them "super hogs". Those you have to be careful with but will produce very good results. One thing I like to do if I have time to do it is burnish with the "dark blend" hog hair with a 1500 rpm burnisher. Then I follow with a sky blue (3M 3050) pad. Talk about shine!!

What color burnishing pad would you recommend for Zep wet-look floor polish?
@ImperialDadeАй бұрын
According to the ZEP website, for optimal results with their Wet-Look Floor Polish, it is recommended to dry burnish 2 to 3 times per week using an ultra high-speed burnisher paired with a beige burnishing pad. This routine helps maintain the polish's high-gloss shine and keeps the floor looking its best by smoothing out scratches and enhancing durability. Regular burnishing with the right pad ensures your floor remains glossy and well-protected against wear.

Is it better to use a Sky blue burnishing pad or a white polish pad?
@ImperialDadeАй бұрын
Hello! Thanks for watching. Great question. The choice between a Sky blue burnishing pad and a white polish pad depends on the specific floor care needs and the desired outcome: Sky Blue Burnishing Pad: This pad is typically used for high-speed burnishing, which is a process that enhances the shine of the floor by smoothing out surface imperfections. It's ideal for achieving a high-gloss finish on resilient floors like VCT (vinyl composition tile). If your goal is to restore or maintain a shiny, polished appearance on a high-traffic floor, the Sky blue pad would be the better choice. White Polish Pad: The white pad is a softer, non-abrasive pad used for light polishing or buffing. It’s excellent for applying a final polish to already clean and shiny floors or for delicate surfaces that require minimal abrasion. If you’re looking to give the floor a gentle polish to enhance an existing shine without aggressive burnishing, the white pad would be more appropriate. In summary, use the Sky blue pad for high-gloss, high-speed burnishing and the white pad for light polishing and finishing touches.

I have an aircraft hangar with a grey color painted epoxy floor. We are using a Tennant T300 walk behind polisher (20" pad). We get tire tracks, oil drips and a bit of grease build up in spots around the hangar as we pull airplanes in and out. We also drive cars in the hangar as well. To date we have been using a light blue / pale blue pad which I assume it what you are categorizing as a burnishing pad. My local janitorial supply shop sold me a darker blue pad and tried to convince me it would be "close" to the light blue pad. Based on your video that is not true! I am curious what pad types and colours you think would be the best for our floor type?
@ImperialDade8 ай бұрын
Hi! Thanks for watching our content! We hope you found it useful. The T300 scrubber paired with the correct chemical, pretreatment, and right floor pad will surely get you the desired results. You are correct. The very soft, light blue pad is a burnishing pad that will not clean well on a floor scrubber. Without seeing the floor finish, we would speculate that a red floor pad would be fine on your epoxy floor. This is the lesser aggressive of the scrubbing floor pads. A darker blue scrubbing pad is more aggressive than a red cleaning pad. If you are going to use the blue scrubbing pad, be sure to test it in an inconspicuous area. This is an aggressive scrubbing pad and can dull the epoxy finish. To remove the grease residues on your floor, an all-purpose light degreaser should work well on 95% of the floor. The other 5% is the extra greasy spots. Tackle those spots with a heavy-duty degreaser. Make sure to rinse the floor after using a heavy-duty degreaser to avoid damaging the floor. For more information on selecting the best floor pad, check out our article: www.imperialdade.com/blog/best-floor-pad-for-buffer-or-burnisher You would be interested in the pads for the flor buffer which can also be used on floor scrubbers in most cases. Can the red pad be used on Marble? Which would best for giving it a good clean of contaminents. Oils
@ImperialDade3 жыл бұрын
Hi - Thank you for watching our content. I'm going to answer your question in 2 parts. 1st YES - Red pad is good for Marble. 2nd - Depending on the type of oil that got spilled on the floor - you should concentrate efforts on a good quality cleaner. Food fats/oils are generally very hard to get out of marble, and petroleum being slightly easier. We recommend using some sort of oxygen based cleaner where the bubbles can help lift out the oil. Clean By Peroxy by Spartan Chemical is a great one to start with. Hope this helps your situation - keep us posted. shop.ebpsupply.com/mStorefront/search.do;jsessionid=B339758C33213D9B4CD6F146CF5C8B59?keyword=clean+by+peroxy&emailAddress=&searchType=keyword

The pads look huge. My new Oreck Orbiter uses 12” diameter pads. I ordered one from Amazon, and it’s way bigger than 12”, but it was sold as a 12”. ?
@ImperialDade3 ай бұрын
Hello! Thanks for watching. We are sorry to hear you are having trouble with your floor pads. The pads you received might be larger than 12 inches, even though they were labeled as such. For your Oreck Orbiter, 12-inch pads are indeed the correct size. If the pads are too large, you can trim them down to the correct size using a sharp pair of scissors. This should help ensure they fit properly and work effectively with your machine. What pads get rid of scratches on a school floor. The floor is non wood but I can't tell what kind of floor tile it is. I used a pink one but not on a floor machine because the scratch on the floor isn't in a real long area. It isn't a black mark scratch because I used to get that off with a green pad. I want to remove the spot completely so it can't be seen. I used a pink but it didn't work.

@ImperialDade Жыл бұрын
Hi @pgnandt, thanks for contacting us! For an epoxy floor, a green pad would be too aggressive and could scratch the floor, causing it to dull. A red pad should be used for general cleaning, while a white pad should be used for dry buffing. You should not wax an epoxy floor. Hello Lee - thank you for enjoying our content. Here are the answers to your questions from our expert: Q: Can I use the Eraser Pad on Low speed 175 rpm machine is the same machine we strip ? A: No, The eraser pad is for Burnishers only. Q: Which pad do you think is good to clean an Asbestos floor or scrubbing an asbestos floor since that type of floor can’t be stripped? A: First be sure that the floor has several coats of wax and wash daily with red pad. To remove finish (be sure the floor has several coats of finish on it)you can use a SPP (surface prep pad) to wet sand the top coats off then reapply several coats of finish. Q: Which pad do you prefer to keep the floor shining to keep it maintained while is been waxed. A: It is best to use a burnisher. There are several burnishing pads that work best on different finishes. A great all around pad is the 3M Aqua pad. You should use mop on (or through your scrubber) restorer once per week before burnishing. If burnishing daily use the restorer twice per week before burnishing. Q: Can 175rpm rotary machine buff a VCT Floor. A: You can with spray buff with a 175 rpm machine but this is very old school. With today’s finishes you should use a Burnisher with a floor maintainer (see above) for way faster and way better shine. Q: What’s the link to place an order when I need to A: Visit shop.ebpsupply.com/ Thank you again!

After using black pad for stripping, can i use burnisher after stripping?
@ImperialDade9 ай бұрын
Hi There! Thanks for watching. Good question! Once the floor is rinsed and dried after the stripping process, you can choose to run a burnisher to smooth out the floor. At Imperial Dade, we do not recommend this because the burnisher can fill in the tiny voids, keeping the finish from properly bonding to the floor. Also, remember to never burnish between coats of finish as it will prevent the finish from curing properly. Only burnish the floors after a minimum of 24 hours from when the finish was applied.

People don’t spray buff anymore?? Since when?
@ImperialDade9 ай бұрын
Hi there! Thanks for watching our videos. There are a few reasons why spray buffing is not as popular as it used to be. First and foremost, the main reason why spray buffing is not the procedure of choice is that it is very time-consuming. To spray buff, you must first you spray on the restorer. Next, you will spread the restorer around and buff it dry. Then, you can proceed to polish the floor to create that shiny appearance. Aside from being very time-consimuming, spray buffing with a burnisher can lead to floor pad and machine damage if done incorrectly. The best way to acheive the desired shine is to use a restorer through your automatic scrubber or mop on as the cleaner that day. Simply dispense or mop on the product and let it dry. After it is dry, burnish the floor. This allows for you and your staff to cover a lot more area and achieve a superior shine. You use the restorer once for every 3 times you burnish.

Sorry you did not find this video as valuable as possible. Unfortunately different pads react differently to floor finishes, and often testing them out is one of the best ways to find out if the shine achieved is what you are looking for. To say definitively a certain pad works best on a certain floor could not be possible. We suggest getting samples of a few pads you may be interested in to see how they react best with your substrate and finish.
