I love the Utility version of that knife, the Crain 189 for all the same reasons!

Over here in the UK we mainly use the dolphin/delphin style knife......I've been using the crain hook handle utility version for a few years now! Great to see im not the only one who uses the hook that way!! Awesome knife!

When a installer teaches you he will give you a knife. Usually the one he uses. The guy that taught me used the olfa knife with the tuck blade on it. I've been using the same kind for 37 years. Can't use anything else unless I have a lot of band-aids and duct tape to stop the blood.

Yep that’s how it works

I am wondering if our carbide round blade can be used as carpet knife?
@FloorsbySouthernboys9 ай бұрын
I don't think that will work to well.

I just got a traxx florescent yellow. It's the same shape as an orcon. Only got it cause I liked the color lol I'm gonna get me one of those knifes and try it out.

I use the red gundlach push button the last 20 years, heavy duty knife, has a good weight to it,
@Bryden012 жыл бұрын
I kind of disagree. My very good friend will fight me on it though lol. I dont like it as it gets loose and I have had blades sticking out of the center before and the tip isnt as flat as I like to have when it comes to riding the straight edge. thats just me though
@FloorsbySouthernboys2 жыл бұрын
My first knife was one of those, after a while, it got to loose and start opening by themselves and blades started sticking out the crack of the handle
@smittyferris7776 Жыл бұрын
I’m not a huge fan of blades coming out the handle either (cut a knuckle off years ago with it lol) but if it’s the gundlach knife with the bump on the back near the blade, it’s one of the best sheet vinyl knives in my opinion. Can very easily let it glide and crease the vinyl while it cuts. #FIA

I use a personna carpet knife, it’s not the skinny kind and it’s really thick and sturdy it just doesn’t have the hook at the end. Using the skinny ones I hate using cause the blades feel flimsy in it but with personna one it’s a lot sturdy and held in place

It’s probably the persona white lighting knife I use. King neck and fat knife. Silver

Do you recommend a square or rounded blade for the 217?

I got a row finder, but it’s called a commercial row finder and not a residential. They look the same. Is there a difference? 🤷♂️
@FloorsbySouthernboys2 жыл бұрын
Yes, the commercial one is blocked on the end where the residential one has like a long nose on both ends. They do not look the same. They are similar, but there is a difference.
