Can you explain why you check your cards twice in the KTxh hand at around 5:50 mark? When people do this I usually read it as they have one heart and can’t remember which one is a heart! I'm quite new to poker. Why does both players' stack sizes determine whether one should raise or just call? In the AK hand I mean?

Depending on stack size, if you're raising against someone that either covers you (has more money than you) or has a deep stack (lot o'money) then raising might not work to push them off a hand. If they have a stack that is short (not lot o'money) or you cover them, raising might be a bit of a stronger play to get them to fold. Someone else might have an even better explanation, but from my experiences that seems to be some of the methodology.

I think another consideration is that Mariano wanted to build a bigger pot with a premium hand, which should make it easier to get it all in.

With the deeper stack size, it's less likely people play for stacks pre-flop. If opponent had less, he may have just shoved all in PF. Many of us play at home a $.5/$1 NL game (maybe $1/2). Think if you had $50 in front of you, and someone3-bet to $20 PF you would just shove all in. But if they had $600 and you had $800, you may just re-raise to $80-$100 or just call. If he got 5-bet all in, there is also a chance Mariano folds AK PF as someone willing to go all in PF at that deep of a stack size would either have AK, AA, KK or QQ, o which he's in really bad shape against 2 of those hands, only 50/50 on the other or risking everything hoping to chop if villian has same hand. In many cases because they are so deep he considers just calling for that reason as he may want to try to out play someone post flop, vs. getting 5 bet and potentially folding, in this case he went the more adventurous route making the guess his opponent didn't have AA or KK and wouldn't re-raise with anything else....and he was right.........

That AK vs AK hand was super interesting. Do you think it's a profitable shove in the long term or is it always a call? You might get chops to fold and AQ/A10s shrug call some amount of the time. There's 2 combos of AK and 4 combos of AQ and one A10s. 3 AJ and 3 JJ.

When your big blind is 10$ does the person next have to call these 10$ or not? And if so has the small blind call the 10$ or is he allowed to stay at 5$?

If there’s any raises in between, the minimum price to see the flop is the 10$. For the small blind, he needs to complete the big blind, if he stays on 5$ it means he folded :)
