That's cool you meet with friends and shared a house. and meet up with Paddy. what island do you think is the best you have been to for swimming? i love to swim in the beautiful beaches in Thailand, so always like finding good swim spots. There is some really nice beaches on Koh Lanta. great channel, good to see some other Canadian / Thai people. my wife is Thai and here in Canada now but still likes Thailand better. The Covid thing has put a hold on trips recently, last time i was in Thailand was Jan 2020 just before the Covid effected world travel.

After many times at the foolmoon party and after i discovered that there is more island behind Hat Rin, last time I was in Thailand, i decided to see the island by day as well (usually i travelled for the night from Samui). I took the boat, rented the bike and got sunburned because i made the round of the island in one day checking out things like you did. Even if Koh Ma and the resort where you stayed for a drink with Paddy are beautiful to look at, you can not really say that that is a "sandy" beach, it's more crushed corrals as real sand. From what i saw, of the island, i have to say that Hat Rin is the best sandy beach on the island but at the time of my travel (it was about 2-3 days after a foolmoon party), there was still some dirt and floating plastic from the party. I hope to get there before the next foolmoon party and if i can, i will definitively stay on Hat Rin before it gets dirty again :p

Haad Rin Beach is definitely one of the best beaches in Thailand :) We stayed in Haad Rin the first time we were in Koh Phangan.

Sorry Felix, we don't know much about passing the test. Note went through the process (in Chiang Mai) and yes it was all in Thai. Maybe try asking Paddy Doyle? I believe he went through the process to obtain his Thai driver's license.
