Where are all the spectators? I remember a time when the spectator areas on both side of the track were packed with thousands of people.

The track owner charges way to much for tickets to get in.

This race was a big thing back in the 1970's. Ski-Doo, Arctic Cat, Polaris, and Yamaha battled it out with thousands in attendance. Now it looks boring and I have no idea of what machines they are riding.

There was no way in heck that was the lap sleds fault. The leader went into the corner even with him and just chopped down on him. Nowhere for the lapper to go, and nothing he could have done. The fact the leader didn't get sent to the rear is boggling to me. He didn't even have any pressure from behind.

@ I don't know what the rules are comming to, in the day when i used to race the leader would have been Disqualified for Un sportsman like conduct.

At this track upper 80's low 90's mph. Up in Beausjour they will hit 95 to 100 mph

Back in the day when I was racing that boy would have been given the black flag, what kind of rules do these people have?

1) The flagman should have given the lap traffic the blue w/ crossed yellows indicating they were being taken over by someone already in front of them. Indicating that there is no use in defending the position. 2) Even if the lap down driver does not get that flag, common track etiquette assumes that the driver ahead leading up to a corner has the preferred line. At that stage of the race, there really is only 1 line due to the amount of snow dust laying just outside of the race groove. 3) The leader had already passed the 326 down the backstretch on the previous lap. 326 made a pass apex of 3/4, and was fighting to regain a position that resulted in no betterment of his finish order. My interpretation of penalization for being involved in an accident usually means you came off your sled, or you performed and egregious maneuver resulting in a crash of another driver. The leader was only racing his line, and he should not have had to defend it from a rider he was putting a lap down.

@@nickvanstrydonk558 Just because you are lapping a guy you have no right to cut the guy off it don't matter if you are the leader or not you have to give the guy you are over taking a place to run. in every racing association I ever run in the guy that caused that Crash would have been black flagged. he completely took the guys race line away from him he had no were to go..
