The magazine page ones really surprised me. Love them, and I'll also be using pages from discarded children's books I find in thrift shops. I use some pages now, but this technique will let me use quite a bit more. Had already found the wonky designs surprisingly useful, these new touches will really help me kick things up a notch.

Hi, Debbie I understand perfectly about Margaret Miller challenge. Her prompt collages are wonderful exercises, but just like I have to change up a physical exercise routine once in a while, my brain will also crave a different exercise at times. One collage a week sounds easy at first, but in 3 years of trying I have never been able to even complete half of them. Love your flower fodder. I can understand why you don't want to do the Margarete Miller challenge, Debbie! I have never been good at following prompts, especially if they don't really make any kind of sense. These flowers/leaves/branches are so much fun and very whimsical. And, since I don't want to spend $$$ on the collage books, this is a fabulous way to make my own! TFS

Because I like my prompts to work together it does make it harder. I know I put that on myself but it's just how I like to work my collages. I've just stumbled onto your videos...and wowser, your thoughts about doing art challenges feeling like a job (I had to look up what a 'margarete miller's was...lol)...well, it struck a chord. I've signed up to so many courses, Wanderlust, Fodder School. and I get so far in...and it starts to feel like school again... having to watch videos and then post the output onto whatever platform they're on. It's been overwhelming and not to mention a creative killer! So, I've stopped doing them, stopped posting on social media (I do my art for me and not to show off) and just followed doing whatever I feel like. It's taken a while but my creative mojo has returned and I'm loving the whole process.. I'm a huge lover of magazine collage, as well as florals, so your video is in my wheelhouse. Thank you 💜 I look forward to making my own floral fodder from magazines. PS, you can use a fine piece of sandpaper to remove some of the shine/gloss from the magazine, which will help with the adherence of the pen. I got this idea from @book paper and arts, in her distressing magazine image videos.

This reminds me of what we used to do. We stamped stained glass window stamps on top of magazine pages. My favorites were the ones stamped over a plate of food. Just gorgeous! You are so right - it was really addicting and so much fun! Love your flowers, so maybe I have to stamp flowers now. 😊

Welcome Brenda! Thank you for being here. Most of the pages you see are from a magazine called Sweet Paul. I picked them up at a vendor mall here in Arizona. The ones I picked up are from 2015 so I'm not sure if they still put them out. Start with good Posca or Sharpie pens and a good gel pen. Try the little petal flowers first. Practice, and you'll get it.

Start with the petal flowers. Those are pretty easy. It helps if you have good pens like Posca and Sharpie. Also a good gel pen. Give it a try and practice on any kind of magazine. 🤗 Have fun with it. BTW part 3 comes out Tuesday 😁

That was fun watching you make leaves and flowers that is a really great idea because a lot of magazine pictures are not suitable for cutting out for collages if that would help use up some of them that wouldn’t go into the recycling box❤
