Need to listen to more music. The Allman Brothers Band, Deep Purple, The Who, Queen, Rush, Nazareth, Scorpions, Prince, W.A.S.P., Twisted Sister, Lynyrd SKynyrd and so on all sound better live than they do in studio. It isn't rare. It is just pop music is so boring, sterile and simple that there is no room for improvement.
