Those same parents who lie to and in front of their children, are the same ones that get mad when their children lie. Envy is wrong! There are thousands of children being abused in many different ways, and are afraid to tell someone because they're constantly being told, "what goes on in this house, stays in this house". Like Madea said, "if what is going on in your house is hurting you or someone else, TELL IT". Parents and guardians do not reserve the right to harm or potentially harm their children, under the guise of being their parent!

Touchy subject. If you just get whoopings for doing bad stuff only, then I can see a kid staying in their lane when grown folks are talking. But the Bible does say to kids listen and respect your folks. Now abuse, if serious, snitch get out of there.

I was raised to keep family stuff in the house but If you want your children to grow up with ethical, honest behavior and who will stand on moral convictions and who will always do the next right thing, you have got to be proud when they call you on your isht. Although my 5 year old child didn’t tell on me, she did look me in my eyes and say, “don’t do that mom.” Possibly saved me from years in prison.

Real love for your parents in these situations would be to hold them accountable for their actions. Keeping family business in the house is perfectly fine until there's abuse and someone is being hurt. You should not protect the abuser from all the consequences of their actions. @blaze One Sexual abuse??? What the hell are you talking about? And save their lives? You don't know that they would crash and die. And we're all raised differently but that advice has worked for me. When police have stopped me for no reason and ask me a bunch of random questions. If that's never happened to you that's great. Good for you 👍

@blaze One You need to dumb it down for yourself sir. In no way did I say I was told what goes on in this house stays in this house. Ewe, hell no. I'm pretty sure you can read right? I said I was raised not to talk to the cops like there your buddies.

I don’t blame this kid one bit. He did the right thing but at the same time there is not a chance in hell I’d be snitching on my parent. The issue here is that children don’t understand the consequences of their actions. The reason some parents tell their children what happens at home stays here is because a kid will say something that will cause them to go to a foster home and not understand that and even if their parent was making a mistake in the moment, that one bad decision doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t deserve to be a parent. Plz don’t let any person or government come between me and my son….that’s not a war anyone wants to get involved in.

A that is a sticky situation u talking about. If I was putting my 3 boy's in harm way and they understand what I am doing can seriously injure me, or them they should do just what this young man did. Cause I clearly don't give a damn about them.

@Msfitbrown48 The person who made this comment, kinda made me scratch my head. We gotta realize when we are parents our lives are not about us anymore. And imo if u don't have that type of mindset u should give ur child over to someone who does.
