Why would the mother who left the child in the motel room alone fear being beaten up by her boyfriend when she said he came to her place with a gun?? Wouldn't she fear he would shoot her in the end?? If she is in the wrong and knew he had a gun the children will be the ones who deliver the truth because children will always be unable to corroborate the story properly after being questioned in detail. But I feel if the mother had her boyfriend threaten her with a gun that very night she would fear him shooting her in the end not beating her up. But that's for the integration to uncover!!

What I don't understand is, if she loves her child (she was asking to see her baby), why would she not have taken the baby with her especially if he has a gun? Had he wanted to hurt her, he could've held the baby hostage to get to her...
