I don't understand people who believe in trash like "geoengineering", but don't believe in human caused global warming. They are both man made, they both have the SAME results, but one is easily explainable by the huge amounts of extra gasses humanity releases into the atmosphere, while the other requires an unbelievably huge conspiracy requiring thousands of people to keep it secret. 250,000+ people live within the city limits of Tampa not including the millions who live in Hillsborough County. Everyone can’t evacuate. It’s not possible on the bottleneck that is I75.

Abandoned the state or part of it or fight for it. It would be interesting to measure how much this state makes per year as a whole compared to how much the construction costs per year at a state and national level. Also, who benefits from the re constructions is it the same people who denie climate change and are pro relgion by any chances. Has any actual investment in science based weapons been funded rather than gathering endless data and flying planes in to storms and photographing them from space year after year after year after year.... Do you just take a forest fire. No, you fight it. The same logic would prevail here. Yes it's a huge thing but any effort is better than mass evac and loss of life every year combined with American logic

@Lydia--Ann I get that flooding and mud slides are beyond current ( instant ) technologies or volcanos, etc. But this is just air that's been allowed to build and build and do its thing. They just need micro Implosions of sorts to take away it's deadly momentum. There are so many noble prizes in various fields, yet not this. And we're still training people to study these things when surely all the data we need is known to end them rather than an irrational fascination with them.

Why did they not have in place fuel trucks for quick deployment on standby we here reports of fuel simply running out. Had this been the uk we would of had it on standby. Also what about the homeless what options do they have ? And they are evacuating 5 million people to places effected badly by the last hurricane. I understand the need for urgently getting people out but surely you must of practiced and tested your emergency plans for such a event

You don't understand the scale of the problem - how many thousand fuel trucks would need to be standing by? In the UK, rumours of petrol price rises cause garages to run out in hours and shortages for days!

They have deployed trucks to refill stations that have run out of fuel. But Florida is a big state and the hurricane is hitting the majority of it, so it’s not as easy as flipping a switch. Also, the trucks need to be gone and out of the storms path so they can deliver fuel after the storm. As for homeless, there are government shelters set up all across the mandatory evacuation zones for people who don’t have the means to go elsewhere. These shelters allow pets as well, so people can bring their animals. This is not a simple thing to do to try and evacuate millions of people with less than a 48 hour notice.
