BLS is such common knowledge in healthcare. Although it might not be required as a certification, to assume they don't know is outlandish. Now if you're talking about ACLS, PALS, or NRP then you've got a point.

We're talking about nursing homes not having CPR certification requirements but aren't talking about those on ventilators with full code status after suffering ischemia, anoxic damage or hemorrhage. We're not talking about the ethics of healthcare. I can't tell you how many sick cases I've seen, driven by money, torn families, etc. and they're all news worthy but they fly under the radar because no one wants to face the reality of life... That it ends.
