Florida for the Winter / Full Time RV Family / Thousand Trails Shuffle

One week before Christmas we finally made it to Florida. Then we stayed awhile. We participated in what most full time families refer to as the Thousand Trails Shuffle. Since we have a Camping Pass with Thousand Trails we can stay up to two weeks at a Thousand Trails Campground, then we have to be a week out.
It's usually hard to get into Thousand Trails Orlando last minute in the winter, however we snag 4 weeks when the campground opened up their new section. Two weeks in, one week out, and then two weeks back in.
During our week out we stayed at a State Park and two campgrounds that let us use our Passport America Discounts.
At Thousand Trails Campgrounds, the spots are first come first serve. The first two weeks we got one of the new spots. But then we found out that the families with children and teens usually stay in one of the older sections. So when we went back we got a spot on B Field. Not only did we get a spot, we got the corner spot where all the kids hung out.
We were so caught up in the conversations with other full-time RV Families that we forgot to take videos. There is something magical about sitting by the campfire and hearing other people's stories. We were touched by stories of adoption, stories of faith, and stories being in the right place at the right time. The conversations we had completely changed the direction of our travels. We will be sharing next week how we ended up in Arizona and why.

🤣 We we’re going to bring in the New Year at St Augustine, but the longer we stayed the crazier it got. We got home with about 10 minutes to spare. You’ll love St. Augustine. It’s still Victor’s favorite place so far. Funny story. Victor’s birthday is New Years Day. We picked St. Augustine for his birthday because we thought he would love it. He was so disappointed we picked a Historical town for his birthday. That was until we got there. So every time we go to a new place he rates it. Nothing has passed St. Augustine yet.

I found your channel through McGuires On Tires. You were in the perfect place for winter. We were in Quartzsite, Arizona in the desert boondocking. Never again. Lol. We have always been in Virginia for Christmas and birthdays (we had four birthdays in January), so this was the first for us. The kids want to go back to Florida next winter. They loved it. I can see why Deb loved it.
