Florida homeowners want crocodile that devoured dog gone

A Brevard County community wants a crocodile that's been spotted in their neighborhood to be removed. It's been spotted numerous times hiding under docks and behind some resident's backyards.

Cold blooded animals thrive in warm climates. The most remarkable thing about Florida is how many large reptiles thrive there. Aligators, crocodiles, pythons, and now Anacondas. Even an occasional monitor lizard is one of the many wonders of Florida.

First of all those homes look at least 30 to 40 years old. That croc is not 30 to 40 years old. Also I really don't care if I invaded its space or not if my house backs up to that water he's got to go. My kids and pets safety comes way before your stupidity bud. Sorry, friend. I grew up here and fences won’t stop them. I’ve seen them climb a fence and cut the screen just to get into the water. Now, before you say, well it was a long way from water. Umm, no. My in laws lived on a golf course that had a lot of water, including behind their house.

Crocodiles have been in Florida for millions of years. Not one human has ever been attacked let alone killed by a crocodile in Florida. Keep your dogs on a leash and away from wild waterways at all times and no issues.
