I dont think people are necessarily waiting for rates to go down as much as their waiting for prices to come down. Getting a lower price is much more important than getting a lower rate. You can always refinance your rate even if it takes 5 or 10 years but you can Never change the price you paid for the house. 😉

Prices are projected to go up, not down, in our area and low inventory is making it stay that way.

I LOST INTEREST IN MOVING TO FLORIDA. CROWDED, CONGESTED, HIGH PRICES ON ALL INSURANCES AND HOME PRICES. HUMID, HOT, HURRICANES. IT IS WAY OVER-RATED.

All good points, but I don't know how, or if it can even be explained... It's a whole lifestyle thing, man. When ever I go anywhere else in US, I almost instantly start feeling depressed. Back to FL... Life is beautiful again. We know all these negatives. We feel them, but somehow, we still love being here. At least that's how I feel.

Our previous ins doubled at renewal from 3k to $6700! Our broker flagged our file and found new coverage, the deductible for hurricane is higher and they required the 3rd nail, which $1100 out of pocket, but our insurance is $1600 for the same coverage as our previous ins with only the hurricane ded going up.

It always cracks me up when people try and push the narrative that a stick built house is just as good as a block home.

Hurricane Andrew was 1992. I know people to rode through the center of the storm in Kendall. Wood frame houses in "Country Walk" were leveled. Block house had roof and window damage.

My old insurance Co left FL so am in the process of being converted to Loggerhead. Their process is to e-mail to tell you to create an account to view your new insurance cost, only their website never works to get this set up. I've gone back to my original agent and had them get me a quote from someplace else knowing it will be higher because of the bad impression made by Loggerhead. Also in 1981 I had a 16.5% mortgage with a 2% buydown to 14.5% for a few years till I could refi it down a couple of times. Good ole days!!

They have allowed the roofing companies to make fortunes by jacking roofing prices up so high that's the problem with the insurance down there it needs to change if they would only cover partial or half or make it an exact instead of you know 20,000 make it with the price really is it's a shame that they've done that the homeowners benefiting the roofers instead of the homeowners insurance companies

I think one of your points was a bit off. If I have a 20-year-old roof that was damaged by a storm, I don't get to have it replaced by insurance? Of course, I do. If they can't fix it, they will replace it. I don't pay them any less because I have an older roof, in fact I pay more. They know the risk, and it's all factored in. We bought a house with an 18-year-old roof. It was still good, but no match for Ian, obviously. The insurance company replaced it, and the age of the roof was never in question. When we bought our house, it was a bit harder to find a company that covered it with an older roof, and yes, the premium was higher because of it too. To circle back to the original point. I think you meant people using their insurance, most often because of advice from dishonest roofers, to replace their old roofs claiming damage from weather and stuff. This is definitely a problem. Side note. I liked your previous into better. But this one is also good:)

In today's insurance world, even before the storm, they were using the 15 year rule on roof, so......

The simple solution to keep your homeowners insurance down is to stop making false claims or claiming every single issue when your home is damaged. If you compared the prices when your home is damaged to the price of your deductible you would see it is not worth it. I live in Port Charlotte, it is an older home and its about 500 feet from the water and my insurance is less than 2k with a great insurance company and they are always willing to work with me to lower when i add things to make the home better to withstand a hurricane or natural disaster. Why is that. It is because i don't make stupid claims. I have money put aside to fix the roof or fence and do the work myself instead of filling a claim. You have no one to blame except for yourself. My flood insurance is high but not over 3k and it is what it is. The price to pay to live in Paradise. Just remember Florida is the fraud capital of the free world.

You said prices are going to keep going up. I disagree I believe there will be a crash in 2024. You should do a search on the mls for short sales , REO, Foreclosures and pre-foreclosures.

Unless this is your business and you have done the research, maybe you should let me tell the story. Data is coming from multiple professional sources, not my crystal ball. I agree with them to some extent, but as we know, nobody has this crystal ball. Make the best decision for yourself and don't let all the opinions of others play into that decision. As we have said before, if you look long enough for someone to agree with you, you will find someone. Doesn't make the point correct....you just found someone that agrees.....nothing more.

Appreciate the Video, but lots of the Lawsuits are because the Insurance Companies are low balling the Claims, this guy sounds like an Insurance Lobbyist, we have 1 Party Rule for 20 years ,this mess is squarely on the Laissez Faire Republican party, always the market will take care of it, Im at $ 4900 year miles inland from Intracoastal, Palm Bch County. CBS construction, Hip roof etc. Adjacent house at $8000. They are all taking campaign $$ Donations from Insurance lobby, completely un affordable for middle class, btw jobs pay 1980s wages if you need to work. Need alot of $$ to move here

Tired of getting Raped by the Insurance Company. They don't want to pay for your damage. If you can, self insure, as they will not pay.
