I've caught a bunch of softshell turtles fishing for catfish. I always feel bad for them. They seem so pathetic swimming around on the line. I don't know how people can eat them, but maybe I'm a woos.

What gear ratio reel do you normally use for ripping thru grass like this?

Yeah I use straight braid or straight flouro. I never use leaders.

Why would you set the hook hard with treble hooks? You want to rather apply pressure with treble hooks or your going to rip the small hooks out, or end up bending the the smaller ones like they have on the mega bass lures
