Hi there!! 😊😊Yes I am smiling from ear to ear! Itchetucknee is my absolute favorite place! My Dad and I snorkled from the head spring to the Take out by the bridge. It was heaven! Then we took a canoe trip down the Itchetucknee River past the Take out to the river down to Sandy Point!! AWESOME!! MANY YEARS AGO! Thank you for bringing back fond fond memories. My parents are gone now but I have a beautiful daughter to build these memories with. Thank you so much!! Safe Travels and God Bless!! 😇🦋🤗

Thank you for sharing. I have been going here since 1976 and have dived blue hole multiple times. and snorkeled with the children, while my wife tubed down the Ichetucknee river to the last pull out multiple times. Great place to visit, anytime I'm in Florida this is a stop for the family.

We tubed Ichetucknee Springs in early Oct 2019. It was simply amazing. Almost like a Disneyworld ride. The scenery was beautiful and so much wildlife along the river. Turtles, Herons, Deer, Turkeys, and even a Raccoon. The water was 72 and crystal clear. At this time of year tubing is allowed from the mid point and not the head spring. But it was mid-week and we only saw 1 other small group of tubers. It was peaceful and serene. Amazing place!
@shep15555 жыл бұрын
Also...if you go between Memorial Day and Labor Day they can have over 4500 tubers/kayakers per day on the weekends. So I'd advise going during the week if during peak season.

I live in Gaineville now close, but grew up about 15 minutes from the main entrance. Nearly every day after working picking water melons or tobacco we would git the river at the bridge, after dark shine light and net up a mess of real clean colored crawfish and cookem right there! Best time to go is middle of the week, Wife and I went a few week ago on a Thursday snorkled both springs as long as we wanted hung out at the very nice kayak entrance and I showed her my old haunts. Compared to a holiday weekend or most weekends period it was like we were alone in paradise!

I love this place. Back in the day you could float down with your coolers tied to your tube but like always people started trashing the place and the privilege was revoked. Last time i was there was 12 years ago with my 8 month pregnant wife. Once we got to the more open river portion, a huge turtle popped his head out next to my wife, you probably never seen an 8 month pregnant woman climb up on a tube so fast to try and get out of the water. Great job on this one. 👍👍👍

I have been trying to get a spot in a state park on weekends and there is nothing until march all around. I didn't check panhandle because I don't want to go that far. I am in St. Petersburg. I settled on Fort DeSoto but can't get in there until June 12. They need to start saving spots for Fl residents when all the snowbirds are here. I want to camp in the winter too and I can't plan a year ahead of time. Fort DeSoto saves 10% of it's sites for residents but they are hard to get because you have to be online regristration page at 7 am and be ready to push that go button on friday to see if you can get in. They are gone in a matter of minutes. It's like playing the lottery.

You know, I try to give people a lot of slack who are posting things to help other people. Having said that, your assertion is just ignorant. I grew up swimming and floating the Ichetucknee and I can tell you that it's not the most underrated. It may be the most highly rated. It is probably the most famous spring-fed float river in the southeast, if not the entire U.S. In any case, maybe other people will find out about that fantastic gem from your video and go there to appreciate its uniqueness without screwing it up.
@CampTravelExplore5 жыл бұрын
Points taken, our goal was to highlight why folks should see the beauty of Ichetucknee Spring state park. If they had a campground at the park, it would be more popular. All springs are crowded on weekends when school is out, but we find this spring lesser known. Even the when we were there, you can see no one was in the head spring at all and the campground a 1/4 mile away only had two RV's there. Thanks for your takes and watching!

Your title was a bit confusing to me as Ichetucknee is probably among the top most famous springs in Florida. In fact, if you mention Flordia springs to people in states north of Florida Ichetucknee is usually the one they know best. The only spring where I regularly see alligators (and large ones) is Wakulla Springs. Also called Edward Ball-Wakulla Springs. One of the largest wild alligators I've ever seen was beached not far from the head spring. It gave me pause about swimming there, but I did.
@CampTravelExplore4 жыл бұрын
Thanks James for your takes! I really do feel Ichetucknee is underrated and I will tell you if they had a campground there, it would be considered one of the top 5-7 in my humble opinion. This is just my view after filming 13 Springs now. Thanks for your support of our channel!!!
