Are those private, charter, and magnet schools allowed to expel violent, disruptive, and unmotivated students as well as not take students with special needs? Public schools don't have those options.

Even when they are, it shouldn't be a competition. The role of public schools should be fundamentally different. However, there are even unhoused children going to charter schools in New York, and plenty of black children reaping the rewards. It won't be "segregated" as district school advocates like to lead people to believe. It's just teachers union propaganda. Understandable, but sad.

My grandkids go to one of those private schools. It's not so big that the kids get lost in the system. The parents have to do a certain amount of volunteering, which makes sure the parents are involved. And the security is next level.

I sent my kid to a private school here in florida and it was the worst thing I ever did and will never do again. I homeschool my child now and he is so much happier and have learned more than he did in the private school. I know homeschooling isn't for everyone but it was best for my family.

A place like Cuba has a higher literacy rate than America. America's public school systems was designed to fail and is basically a jobs program for White women.

Brown vs. Board of Education can be undermined with voucher programs and I believe that it eventually will. All students won't get an opportunity to receive an education.

A private company doesn't have to abide by Brown vs Board of education. All students won't have the right to an education if schools are privatized.

Really? They can't figure out how to scale down the Public Schools that exist? No reason to completely leave these parents in a lurch. It's so easy to add on or add a portable. Should be just as easy to take away the portables and reno part of the school.

Because if u live in a small town those options arent available for private school. So private schools will take away more public schools teachers. We already have shortage of teachers. This should.only be an option for 5A and up school districts.​@Cloudguy5673
