Good for her.....even me as a public school teacher my wife and I chose to Homeschool our kids until I changed careers. We could see that our public schools were going liberal...and that was years ago. We also called it "selective socialization". Some of the kids back then were behaving like little monsters and it's only gotten worse since then. A retired school teacher put it this way: Teachers are afraid of the Principal, Principals are afraid of the Superintendent, Superintendents are afraid of the School Board, the School Board is afraid of the Parents, the Parents are afraid of their own kids (can't punish them) and the kids AREN'T AFRAID OF ANYBODY!!!

Teachers are leaving because there are no consequences for kids. Everyone is afraid of their boss and the kids have no fear. It's never the students fault it's always the teachers fault and the kids know it. Also they lowered the standards for kids.

A friend of ours has been a teacher for 30 years. Said in recent years, they have been taught to not discipline the minority kids because the parent will just blame the teacher for being prejudiced. The parents have all bought in to this ridiculous notion that everyone is out to get their kids, they teach this rubbish to their kids so everyone in that community doesn’t trust these fine teachers who really have the kids best interest at heart. Another generation of these kids won’t succeed and the parents will blame society. Never ending cycle until that community takes responsibility for themselves.
@celiamartinez3

Sometimes it’s not warranted but many times minority parents do have to stand up for their kids bc of racism and bias. This happened to my brother growing up in an all white school and I am glad my mom stood up for him when absolutely necessary which was frequently.

Caring parents are the 1st teacher. As far as the material and curriculum. Most homeschools now have parent assistance on how to teach the material. I am looking into homeschools that have this, and one has the option to have courses live online. I prefer my husband and I to teach the material. My husband isn't working and he is worried that he can't teach the material well. He didn't graduate high school..yet he knows so much that I don't know. I know we both will learn and grow with our kids.

I just retired from a CT school for the same reasons. I was also discriminated against because I spoke out against the gender theory being pushed on to our elementary students. I was told by a head member of the LGBTQ community who was conducting a staff meeting at our school that the teachers didn't have to call boys boys, and girls girls, that we can call them he, she, it, they, and binary kids. When I said I'm a Christian who believes in a marriage between a man and a woman, and the Bible, and didnt believe this gender theory stuff should be pushed into young students minds I was told I can't speak that way. That it was against school policy. I then was being pushed out of the teaching job I love, and felt I had to step down, or run the risk of being terminated. It was terrible. I tried to fight these people, and get the union to support me, but nobody would help. Also I tried to get a lawyer to file a lawsuit against this public school system, but didnt have the money for the 5-10,000 dollar retainer fee. Unfortunately the principals and superintendents have too much power, and this is why teachers like myself are leaving. I did 28 years and wanted to do two more because I love the students, but felt I had no choice, but to leave. People need to know how much teachers are suffering now along with the students.

It’s definitely possible and there is so much freedom in it (not from your kids of course lol) but yes freedom as a parent and as a family. About $15,000 per year are allocated for each American student. Why can't these funds be paid directly to teachers in neighborhood Micro Schools with less than ten students instead of to administrators in public indoctrination centers? I think it’s crazy the amount of people are talking about the kids behavior.. kids can’t do what they aren’t taught. Especially when parents/guardians aren’t being the best examples. I’ve been teaching for 10 years and I’ve noticed how much the parents/guardians aren’t being held accountable for their behaviors but yet expects so much from a child. It starts at home.

Our district in New Hampshire was driven into the ground in a decade by a superintendent. When she was finally held accountable for but *one* thing, she was ousted. Now she’s in her 70’s and a state Representative in NH... who lobbies for diminished parental rights and increased decision making powers by the schools. She’s an absolute failure, who is now spreading her failures.

Schools are much different now compared to how they were in the 80's when I went, and I remember standing up each morning and saying the Pledge of Alligance, and when I was in the 1st and 2nd grade I remember having to take those little fluoride pills each morning, and students were smarter and more educated compared to today's students. I've seen Fox News reporters go around to random adults on the streets and ask them basic questions about geography, history and biology that I learned in the 4th and 5th grade, and they have no idea about anything it seems like and usually end up getting all the answers wrong. Our children are being dumbed down by insane ideology by teachers who lack wisdom and common sense, and it has destroyed multiple generations of youth. Common Core is junk, and Schools should go back to the old ways of teaching. I remember one of my close Grammer School friends taking Trigonometry and Pre-Calculists in the 8th grade, and gave a Civic Oration Speech on "Plate Tectonics," which probably most college students wouldn't understand nowadays, and it's a testament to how far backwards society has moved instead of forwards.

@@gemox3225: I agree, and Teachers should not be allowed to teach Transgender ideology to kids or teaching children to hate America. Teachers would have been arrested and escorted off the premises in handcuffs if they tried brainwashing students like they do nowadays, and it's because society has lost their values.

The students are on their phones all Day every day. They can not even focus on the lesson because they are so distracted. Parents take the phones away! The teachers can't take the phones away... only the parents can do that. Parents be parents and make the hard choices because you are cheating your own kids out of an education by giving them unlimited access to social media and entertainment via a smart phone. They have plenty of time for smart phones outside of school. Even the very best students are on their phones constantly. Think about it.

IN normal child development, those are the fundamental rocks (reading, math, science , social studies, writing) laid in 7 yrs, that makes strong, well-educated citizens. I want my son to go back to in Person Learning after three years withdrawal from his high school and have been homeschooling, Since then it's has been safer, more flexible of him loving to learn,but the only problem is that he's not getting the credit from it because due to the our state doesn't have any homeschool programs to support students whom choose homeschooled (according to the school staffs that suggested us to withdrawal our son) 😢 it's heartbreaking that we want our son to get his educational in school,he love school that much! I just hope the education department will come up with a active plans for our children education.

She didn’t say “the poisoning of the curriculum.” She said “so many curriculum changes.” For example, I teach math. The district has so little respect for teachers that they will randomly revamp the entire math curriculum over summer, rendering all your lesson plans and syllabus for your entire class obsolete, and tell you the week before school starts. Then they will give you 8 hours of paid time with your team to figure it out. This means you get to spend YET ANOTHER YEAR revamping the same curriculum you end up having to revamp every single year for various reasons. Late nights til 2am after you out your kids to bed, recreating lesson materials and re-doing PowerPoints. Why? No reason. Just a curriculum revamp. It keeps people in their high paid jobs at the district office. Literally, that is all. They have to prove their worth, and this is how they do it. Meanwhile, textbooks are written by people with PhD’s, and there is no real reason for every district to trust a goldbadge with a masters degree to reinvent the wheel independently in each and every school district across the countey. It’s a waste of money, time, resources, and burns teachers out.

Maybe the parents should take the hint and home school their kids, for at the end of the day it is your kids, and if you don't take the responsibility for your own kids education, it is not the schools letting them down but yourselves, when my children had problems at school I home taught them, the so called education inspector came to my home and found out that my kids who the school said they were at a high level for reading and writing found out my kids at that time could do neither after around eight months they came back this time two of them, and were shocked my kids now exceeded the reading and writing for their age, they told me try and not push them to hard, if only they knew, all I did was find books that they wanted to read, comics were a good start, one loved the Animorphs books the other went into the welsh writer, that wrote the books about a young criminal genius who found out about fairies and loved them she read them all and still today as a mother of two kids reads that author Eoin Colfer of Artemis Fowl I just looked him up, all my Kids love to read, but wont read my books I wrote, told you they are bright.
