FSU and Clemson - as the premier football powers in the conference - have landed a fatal blow on the ACC. No matter what ends up transpiring with the litigations (and how long they take), it’s safe to say both will end up in the P2 and remain competitive power programs in the new world order. On a related note, it is sad to watch the “Tobacco Road” heritage diminish before our very eyes. It’s truly one of the more unfortunate casualties of the evolving college football power structure. The harsh truth is that basketball and other revenue sports do not have the mass to counterbalance the remarkable and ever-growing value of college football. Programs like UNC, Duke, Kansas and others will in all likelihood take on tier 2 status in the coming P2 framework. While the P2 may end up accommodating some of these programs, they will only serve as chum to the alphas in both the SEC and B1G. What remains to be seen is how basketball and other sports fare within the coming landscape. The internal struggles and financial problems in Chapel Hill make this all the more evident.

The plan has been to get the courts to rule on the cost of leaving the ACC, not announcing leaving. Jim Phillips and the schools who spend the least on football have chosen to only be defensive and fight against FSU and Clemson. Sadly, it’s a financial inevitability for FSU and Clemson to leave, the timing of that announcement has been the big question. UNC may want to leave but is in a political quagmire. Don’t be surprised by FSU and Clemson announcing they are leaving after 2024 before Aug 2024.

I'm glad to see them go. They will go maybe to the Big10 or SEC and be replaced by schools with a more well rounded sports program that will make the conference better. I still think the ACC with or without them is still as good or better than the Big12.

Clemson’s recent successes came during a time when FSU was at historical lows. With FSU resurfacing of late, expect Clemson to settle back into the second fiddle role it’s played for most of the past 30+ years when FSU joined the ACC.

Clemson, will play second fiddle to no one in the ACC. They should have beaten Florida State last year. They gave the game away to them more than Florida State won it.

@@davidsmith8278 Whatever makes you feel better. Truth is, the head to head with Clemson says FSU has been the top dog in the ACC since 1992.

FSU got good because of a lot of portal hits... They didn't develop anyone behind those portal guys... That's not a recipe for longevity

@@keyroncampbellFlorida is three times the recruiting hotbed that is SC and FSU is a more intriguing national brand. When both brands peak, FSU has historically come out on top (see 2013/2014). Moreover, Dabo is trending down while Bama is well-documented tried and failed to poach Norvell. Cope better, guys…because it’s coming.

Dabo seems dumb to some people but he’s not dumb at all he is just sticking to his principles and his morals he may be on the right path and he might not but he is no dummy and he’s definitely sticking with his way of doing things

Swinney is CFB Luddite and Clemson will find out 8/30 all about Roster Management.

If you don't use the portal your players know you have their back. Clemson does not run out and buy a team. Unfortunately it is very hard to compete with the big money schools. NIL combined with the portal has ruined college football.

You think Sammy Brown, Bryan Bresee and Trevor Lawrence went to Clemson for free? Players have always been paid. Don’t misdiagnose the issue. The complete lack of regulation is the problem. It’ll get fixed once these kids are finally given employee status and real contracts are established. Also if I was a booster at Clemson I would be incredibly angry at Dabo for not using all the tools at his disposal for roster management. That would be the equivalent to an NFL coach not using free agency. You don’t pay him 10 million a year to make the second stringers happy. You pay him to win…

Dabo sucks and his ego is too high to use the transfer portal. He’s choosing to not adapt and will get left in the dust. Clemson fans will be chanting fire dabo here soon😆

How does dabo suck? And why does he suck? People are aloud to have and practice their philosophies and I think he is one of the best coaches in college football and I'm a miami fan
