Bud, you stated one positive of playing Georgia was that Norvell saw in person great players and how 5 star players can dominate your 4 and 3 stars. Hopefully, he will now realize that he needs better recruiters.

True, but we dont have the money right now in this NIL to really compete for five stars. Until we join the BIG 10 and get that money behind us we won't be able to. Yes they need better recruiters but these kids are coming from poor single mother led families mostly and a recruiter won't make the difference, money will. And I'm not offering Bolton 5 million and he hasn't even taken a snap, same for Smith. Give me the four stars and let me stack them and develop them. It's cheaper. FBA/B1

FSU is gonna be just fine. Norvell is a hell of a coach. FSU will recruit itself well enough for the team to make the playoffs and win the ACC. I think 2024 is a season where FSU, Clemson, Miami, & Louisville compete for that 1 ACC playoff spot, based on the talent acquisition game of the past 3 seasons and the youth of the rosters. Let’s be honest…going 10-2 is not getting in as an ACC team into the ESPN playoffs…even if your program is named FSU or Miami. They’re gonna shove in a 4 loss SEC team instead.

But like yeh, it was obvious what Kirk and Sankey were doing when they had the committee keep us out of the cfp. They clearly w this would have long term affects on fsu I.e.: recruiting and that’s what they were hoping.

Great Job as always Fellas!! To add to one point. The two questions I had when Norvell was hired were, 1. Could he coach/develop players to the level needed to compete for National Championships and 2. Could he recruit at a NC level. I think the answer to the first is a yes, it's the second question that still is unanswered. The recruiting is going to be what determines Norvell's tenure. He needs to build on this years recruiting class over the next 2 years or we'll be looking for another coach IMO. I expect to see some staff updates or changes that reflect a higher level of commitment to recruiting.

I understand this sentiment, but neither of the squads in the NC this year recruit much better than us, in fact Wash recruits significantly worse. We should always want to be better, who doesn’t want to be Alabama in terms of success. But we also shouldn’t trick ourselves into thinking we can’t win anything because we don’t recruit like Bama, OSU, UGA, and Texas do. We are still very good, certainly good enough the be a contender most years. I guess what I’m saying is, let’s not have perfect be the enemy of good here. If we won’t be satisfied till we’re UGA, we’ll just never be satisfied.

@@nowhereweareagain You know what, that is a very, very good point. I've been an FSU fan since 1988, so I'm used to a certain level of recruiting. I think if we can maintain a Top 10 class, maybe 15 at the worse, with the coaching we have, we'll be okay. Anything lower than that we're in trouble. And if we can't get more top end players on the D and O lines, and LB, we're going to struggle too.

Hoping this staff gets it together. 13-0 season and can’t take advantage of recruiting, get smashed 63-3, regardless of not having our top guys there, Norvell needs to put a better product on the field. Georgia 2nd and 3rd string where destroying our 2nd and 3rd string that's very concerning going forward Norvell must make staff changes to get this full roster back up to standard we we're very top heavy and good enough to compete for a playoff spot but we not there depth wise yet with blue chip talent. Norvell can't allow poorly recruiting coaches to hold us back JP,Odell and Shannon are still recruiting at 5-7 level that's not good enough at a 13-0 program, I pray Norvell loyalty doesn't screw him or cost him a Nation Championship.

Check out the 247 recruiting lists for the last four years. Over the course of four years Washington brought in 2 Five Stars and about 12 Four Stars. Amazing what they did with recruiting success far behind what we have had.

Dumas Johnson and Marvin Jones Jr both started/played significant snaps and transferred out. Humphries was hurt. The aforementioned Bear Alexander. FSU lost more but UGA wasn't near full strength either, the depth is just better.

But UGA was not starting a 3rd string QB, 3rd string RB, without two starting corners and starting safety, without star DE (Verse), star DT (Fiske) - in all, FSU had 13 starters missing and a total of 30 scholarship players missing due to NFL, Portal, or injury. The snub crushed FSU spirit. UGA lost a game. While I think they were still one of the 4 best teams, it wasn’t a SHOCK when they weren’t selected to the playoff “invitational” or “playoff.”

@@jond181 In the second half UGA did and still outscored FSU 21-0. It's fine to just admit UGA has a better team combined with FSU basically opting out. Even our 4th string walk on QB completed a pass and ran for a first down.

I agree the fans deserved better from the players and wish they would have played and goven everyone a great game to watch. However, think about if you are a player, you play all season through injury and adversity to go 13-0 (2 games with back ups QBs) and then you are told "sorry, we're taking Bama". These are 18-22 year old kids/young men, they are not thinking through the emotions they are feeling. FSU got screwed, plain and simple. Sucks, but it is what it is. They didn't play at full strength and that's not Georgia's fault and GA did what they did because they could. This is 100% on the Invitational committee and the networks turning CFB into a money grab

I love that the players opted out!! That my friends was a boycott!!! ESPN has already shown that their business interests come before the integrity of the game, so what's wrong with the players doing the same?
