FSU’s biggest negative in recruiting right now, without question, is being in the ACC. It is seen as an inferior league by the media, by the committee and by recruits. And it is an inferior league outside of a handful of teams. If and when FSU gets out of the ACC, it will immediately elevate its recruiting level to top 6 or so level where it can actually start to compete with OSU and UGA for some of these top tier kids.

So the 30 plus years of being in the ACC didn't happen?? Our problem was the erupt fashion Jimbo left and that disaster of a coaching hire of Tagger! The 3 worst years in our football history happened. Winning and winning consistently will solve everything. Notre Dame, USC, Ok, Texas, LSU,and Michigan have all gone through ruff patches. Like Miami and Florida are going through rt .now. Remember, before Saban AL suckered! Before Kirby GA was, was mediocre....

@@torrencesmith1725 the landscape has totally changed. Being left out of the playoff as an undefeated ACC champion is a huge recruiting negative. FSU has to overcome the ACC in recruiting with every top flight prospect. Others schools are telling them “you can’t play for championships there” and “they don’t play at the highest level”. And that’s before we even touch the money subject, which matters now and is REALLY going to matter soon. Just because being in the ACC wasn’t a huge problem 20 years ago has nothing to do with now.

I don't know - Miami and Clemson still continue to out recruit us. Miami has even cracked top 5 class despite being in the ACC and their mediocre record in the past couple of years.

@@sheridan891 you’re absolutely right the ACC wasn’t always viewed through that particular lens but over the past 25 years or so it has gradually begin to be looked at as a inferior conference it used to be a conference considered to be one of the top-tier premier conferences, believe it or not but you’re totally correct that is no longer the case at all and I promise you teams are definitely using it in their recruiting pitch to keep kids away from Florida State and probably several other ACC schools as well.

TravisRogers. We have relied on the portal and it has won us a conference championship and brought us back to relevance. People are slow to accept the fact that the portal has changed the game and recruiting. Everyone is still stuck on the best recruiting out of highschool. That is inexperience recruits. Transfers are experience that are ready to play right now. Norvell has gotten better classes year after year in recruiting. I expect that to continue. I’m not panicking. Just time to accept the fact that the transfer portal is a huge part of recruiting now

True that and coach MN has done a job recruiting the portal that no other coach in the country have if you ask me, and I think, even though some schools is catching up, he’s ahead of the curve the portal is to college football what free agency is to pro football five years from now I promise you high school recruiting will not be quite the same. People are eventually going to have to come to that realization.

I’ve been saying this to every other fan base that tried to dunk on fsu last year for our snub. You are crazy if you think any conference other than SEC and BIG10 will have 2 teams in the playoffs. They will use what ever excuse they need. Plus we are going to have the same popularity contest that decides the 12 teams as the 4

I think the ACC runner up is in serious trouble if the SEC or B1G has any 9-10 win teams that have W’s over their top contenders. Sankey will be tapping his foot very loudly in ESPN’s ear.

Yeah, I like Bud but I do not place any real value on the stars and particularly the industry because it wants to live and have influence. I’m not saying that they are not pointing out some good players but then again some of that might be obvious if you have the time to look up the physical metrics of some of these kids. Also, I see way to many premadona’s stamped as 5star

Love the show. IMO, DJ is just an average QB which means this team will just be average. 9 win team at best. A lot of good players just not great on this team. Coaching/play calling/scheme are the X factor’s for this year’s team. I’m a bit worried. Go Noles !!
