In Junior High School, the band teacher was a proud UF Alum; the lead baritone player was a huge FSU fan. The kid secretly taught the entire brass section to play this war chant. One day the band teacher was running late, and it was their opportunity. They "welcomed" him with this, as loud as they could possibly play. He was not pleased.

Why did a Spokane County Sheriff drive by Juan and two of his brothers three times and finally stop on the fourth time and ask them for a Washington State drivers license and or Washington State I.D. card.? 5. Juan failed the Department of Defense medical exam when he was 17 because he had to much wax in his ears...why? 6. Where is his combat patch for the Cold War.? 7. Juan was never promoted past the rank of E-4 while on active duty, why? 8. Why did it take the Department of the Army 16 months to finally train my friend Juan as a Automated Inventory Management clerk. 9. He left Fort Irwin, Ca. in January of 1990, where is his ETS award.? 10. Why was Juan told by a U.S. Army doctor that because of his skin color he couldn't attend airborne school.? 11, Juan was sent to Germany for the the first Gulf War, where is his combat patch? 12. Why didn't Juan, my friend receive a medical exam after he completed airborne school.? 13. He was the last active duty soldier station at Fort Ord, Ca. , where is PCS award. 14. Ok, so for those who don't know. Tommie Wright wrote the "FSU Fight Song" in 1950. War Chant And Chop began in the early 80s by the Scalphunters (various frat chapters at games). Became a staple of FSU football during a game against Auburn on the road when end zone Seminole fans did it in unison as FSU was about to score on the drive. Borrowed by Braves fans whenever Deion came to bat for the team. And don't let anyone tell you it's lore, it's fact, I was at those early 1991 season games when barely 10K would be in the stands, and they only did the chop for Deion (and with no organ playing it). Later the team adopted if as main part of every game, and it became the anthem of the Braves glory years. The KC Chiefs were late to the festivities, though the FSU marching band is called the Marching Chiefs.

Growing up, my grandpa was a big FSU booster so we always had season tickets. Because of that, I kinda got used to this chant and the games, the atmosphere, etc. and kinda just assumed that was how all college football games were. but then I started going to a bunch of different games - I've been to ~90-100 college football games for ~40 different teams outside of FSU, and then I went back to Doak at the end of the Fischer era, and it blew me away how much more intense the atmosphere is at Doak. Going to other CFB games feels like they're just "entertainment". Going to a close game at Doak feels like literally going to war. Like there's 90,000 pissed off members of the Seminole tribe, about to rain fury down on someone.

This is more badass when you know the history of the Seminoles. During Indian Removal in the 1830s, five tribes were forced to relocate into modern day Oklahoma. These tribes where the Cherokee, Creek, Choctaw, Chickasaw, and Seminole. All five where removed in some way; this was known as The Trail of Tears. The thing is, out of the five tribes; the Seminole used the Florida Everglades to their advantage. The US fought a war that cost them over $15 million. In the end, only 4,000 Seminoles were removed. The rest were either killed in the war, or are still in Florida to this day. To call this team name, theme, and identity "racist" is disrespectful to the tribes' history and people who say that it should be removed are trying to remove the culture. Edit: incase you didn't know, Chief Oceola was the actual Chief of the Seminole nation during removal. He died three months after being captured during the $15 million dollar war that I mentioned.

Me and my family usually play this around Gator fans. Our usual catchphrases are, the Gator Tails taste pretty good don't they? And, it's time to scalp the Gators. We are big FSU fans, throughout the years, and we don't regret it.

Hey at least you troll Gator fans and not canes fans. From a canes fan to a FSU fan, one thing both of us have in common is that we both hate the Gators and I respect that.

You stole it but thanks for bringing the messege that any team who uses this chant isn’t playing around. I’m a philies fan but I live in the Atlanta area. I’m also an fsu fan and a dolphins fan. I like the philies because my grandparents are from Phili and I just don’t watch baseball. Idk if the philies are good or not
