As an experienced aviator,I can say this is the real flying.All the aviators with experience and knowledge can say the same.It is not complicated and hard like jets.It takes more than 5 years to be fighter pilot.You are taking aviation and space courses for years.But aircrafts like cessna are basic.It doesnt have mixed flight systems.Pure flying.

Brings back memories. I had the opportunity to take a cross country from La Port, Tx (southeast side of Houston) to Milwaukee, Wi back in 1979. I had just completed ground school and passed my FAA written but hadn't started my actual flight training yet. My buddy was a relatively new PP and he and his brother had an opportunity to make the flight. I was invited to come along because my friend wanted to have at least one other person in the airplane that had some idea of what was going on. We also took the trip in a C172. They may not be the fastest things in the air but they're not bad from a comfort stand point. We made the round trip in three days and, if memory serves, put about 20 hours on the airplane. The trip was a great learning experience for me, being fresh out of ground school. I handled the navigation duties while my friend flew the airplane. It turned out to be a big help once I started flying the airplane my self. I really miss those days!

Years ago myself and two others had a significantly less epic flight to KFFA in a rented Cherokee flown from Elizabeth City (KECG). We were all in the Coast Guard, attending the Avionics A-School located there. Still, quite enjoyable, and much, much less expensive, lol. But we had to hurry back because we still had classes that afternoon!

I'd love to fly to Arizona and the surrounding deserts soon. Would like to see all those planes waiting to be scrapped is Tucson, Mojave Desert, Victorville.... Flying in California is nice! I spent a couple of wweks in L.A. for flying last year (check out my other videos). But I haven't been to San Diego yet... Coming soon 8-)
@DutchPilotGirl10 жыл бұрын
EDDGpilot Tuscon has a lot of military airplanes, very nice to see them waiting for you haha. Did you go to Yuma once? They have a special offer, 1$ for any food you like. I loved it haha! San Diego was very nice as well but I only stayed there for 2 hours unfortunately. Looking forward to your San Diego flight! I haven't been in LA, too expensive for the school ;-)
@EDDGpilot10 жыл бұрын
Well I havent been to LAX for a landing myself but I'm talking about the whole L.A. basin! There are so many good places to be. Best one is KCCB :) Nice people over there! Catalina is nice to, Santa Monica, Big Bear, Cino, Torrence, and many more.. Love it :) Thanks for the hint in YUMA! I will test it as soon as I come to the US again. Hopefully next year (spring or summer!) Where are you flying at? Are you getting your commercial licence?
@DutchPilotGirl10 жыл бұрын
EDDGpilot All those places are too far away from Falcon Field (base) so too expensive for my school at that time:( ;-). Haha definately try it, you.ll have to make a new mass and balance depending on how much you ate there. It's very nice! I have my commercial license, me/ir etc for 2 years now. Back in my country already so I won't be flying in USA that often anymore. Here in Europe, or at least where I live, it is all controlled airspace or very very busy airspace above 1100' so not that attractive in a little airplane haha. What airplanes are you flying?
@EDDGpilot10 жыл бұрын
I'm from europe as well, so US-flyin in my holidays only ;) Where are you from? I'm from germany.. Flying everything with 1 piston engine here and also gliders. (C152,172,182,A210,PA28A,PA28B,PA18,DR400,FA200,Ultralight.....) So are you looking for an airliner cockpit-job soon?

@TheAviationJake293010 жыл бұрын
EDDGpilot For sure! We have Paine failed as an obvious one, its neat to fly low and slow over the factory and flight line. We have an unknown but neat one, Harvey Field. Its in a valley and has some interesting approaches and great views of the mountains and the Snohomish River. Its also amazing to fly over the Seattle waterfront, words cant explain the beauty :) there are many others I havent flown into. I fly a Cessna R182. I always get weird looks when I tell people I have retractable gear :-P
@EDDGpilot10 жыл бұрын
cool, thanks! I will see if i get a chance to fly in seattle soon :) Yeah.. cessna always looks weird without a gear in my opinion :D But the 182 is one of my favorites regarding the types i flew in my aviation life
@TheAviationJake293010 жыл бұрын
EDDGpilot No problem! I guarantee you will love it! I agree the 182 is probably one of my favorites, I am quite a sucker for caravans though...hence my favorite aircraft being the Quest Kodiak :-)

And yes, I prefer "Steam gauges" cause that's what I learned on - TCAS would be nice if I were to go IFR someday, but I have flown glass, and it feels like an "fish tanks" is in front of me. I know, I know situation awareness....but that's really the MFD if I want one. But after that accident in Frederick with the R44 and the Cirrus 20 ballistic that surely saved the two lives of the fixed wing - I'm thinking that it is a necessity now in any light plane - no more of a luxury. FDRK North of D.C. accident last month. I could not get a hang of the R22 lessons, but it was interesting to try the "beach ball". I'll stick with fixed wing.

Hi, 1.) different. Highest was 9500 ft, lowest 4500 or so due to wind. 2.) One was in IFR training, 2 had no experience with IFR flying so far 3.) All PPL, ongoing CPL-pilots

@meikowellmann58058 жыл бұрын
