I've been getting out more this year because your videos inspire me to. Last weekend I did my (so far) longest hike of 6.2 miles. I'm still pretty out of shape but all of these trails I have done now... I cry every time. I have never been so at peace and happy to be alive as an adult. I've exhausted nearly every trail and campground within 50 miles already and I have such a craving for more.

I live in a very nice city, in a good neighborhood but it is close to a shopping district. I don’t have to walk far before I encounter trash thrown out on the street and there’s an alley nearby which people will occasionally dump serious trash if they think no one is looking. It is only by constant efforts of people that this is kept mostly under control. Disagree? Hell.

How awesome to be able to hangout with your BFF. Thank you saving the turtle. And something alot of people don't realize about the manatee is there food source is disappearing because boating chops it all up. It take 7 years for the sea grass to grow and many manatee are starving to death. That one didn't seem thin, so perhaps a boating accident. Stay blessed and safe travels

I was petrified you would show us a snake and nearly jumped out of my skin when you showed the close up of the turtle yet I enjoyed it so much and before I knew it, it was over. Bless that lady who put you up in one of the rooms was so nice of her to extend her hospitality to you two. You clearly share your love of the Florida outdoors with your father which draws you to the wilderness, but also your mother loves the outdoors; now you are such a wonderful role model to your goddaughter. Hi Dixie - I grew up in Melbourne, FL too! (1982-1997). The hospital Jim Morrison was born in is a small building, which is now the Melbourne Vascular center by the Indian River. The hospital then moved to the Holmes area with an older building and then the building you are familiar with is the actual Holmes Regional Hospital. His birth house is still standing in "downtown" Melbourne. I have since moved to TN, but since I have grown a re-appreciation of the Florida natural landscape - bugs, flatland, heat, humidity and all. There is something unique about the Central Florida area with the endless pine trees/ oaks / palmetto trees. The Florida Trail looks like something I have to try sometime in my life.
