The first thing when buying those Nomad Madmacs and DTX minnows is to change out the hooks. Put some decent Mustad 7691S size 8 or 9 tuna hooks on those 200mm sizes and larger lures. Your hook ups will increase 7-fold. FYI, you will need to buy/add a pair of split rings to have the hooks run true and check them every trip to be sure they don't wear out.

Damn, that sucks about the Kraken. I had the reel in the cart ready to pull to plug but something keep telling me hold off. That's because I read a few reviews and they mentioned about the gears being stripped. I figured I'd watch Heiko's videos and see how resilient it was. Hopefully Picifun will modify the gears and make that reel a great addition to the arsenal. I must say that rock fish you pulled up had an interesting appendage. Clearly it was waiting for the one and Dan, sir, you were the one 😂 I noticed your seat had something looking like black mold. If it is, use a 1:1 bleach and water. Let stand for 5 minutes then take a soft brush to gently scrub the mold off and rinse thoroughly. Repeat as needed. When it dries, I spray 303 Marine UV protectant on it. I didn't think "Jalopino" peppers were that hot but clearly they were. Poor Elizabeth was almost tearing up 🤣 Can't wait to start fishing here again. I'm sure Elizabeth will get on the water eventually. My pleasure. Enjoy the spoils 🤙 A token of my appreciation. Let me know how you like the hot sauce. Keep them bloopers coming. PS: The SFFC would not be the same without Heiko. Cheers 🥃

Yes, that fish literally tore the guts out of that reel. They work well on smaller species but cannot handle a Wahoo. Thanks for the “gifts” again. Hope to hook up in Antigua someday.

I installed hi tide and hurricane boat lifts in south Florida for many years. You should be able to hand crank your boat down in a pinch. Will take 10 minutes. Should be a switch to neutral then just spin the wheel with the belt on it
