Hey Guys. Exciting fun video except for the hook. There is something called the shoestring method that removes hooks. Not sure if it would of worked on Dan because of the size of the hook but look it up it might be helpful if someone gets another hook in them. (Hopfuly Not) while your out on the water. My brother got the same hook stuck in him several years ago and we learned about that from the Dr's at fisherman's hospital in tge keys. They used that method on him. WOW ON THE FISH. Oh man, had the same thing happen to me with a stinger rig but went through the palm.of my hand. The barb was inbeded and did not go through and through so, had to continue pushing through the muscle, use a pair of pliers to pinch the barb off, cut the eye of the hook and pull it the rest of the way out of my hand. Stuck my hand in the ocean ( ocean water has iodine ) then rinse thoroughly with peroxide and keep fishing ( I did get a tetanus shot afterwards though). Thanks for the awesome video, as always and wait to keep a cool head under pressure!

Awesome video you two, I just tuned in and love how you took it! Great fish and a suggestion for a knife is Silver stag in Washington state makes custom D4 Steel filet knives that cant be beat. No issues of being sharp, if it Dulls send it back in and they will resharpen it for you for free. Keep up the good work, looking forward to your next one!!

Monty Haskett: Yu are not the first to recommend the Silver Stag knives. They seem a bit pricey and I wish I could handle one or eye one before I went out on a limb and purchased one. Think I will reach out to them and check their prices. Thank you for the advice and really appreciate you commenting and watching our videos! -Capt Dan & Elizabeth

What depth of water are yall fishing in here? And anchored or holding in place with motor? What do you look for on the sonar to find good places for bottom fishing like this? Family going on vacation to the keys this summer, looking for some tips

Jared H: The bottom should be broken and jagged - large rocks and deep holes are what you are looking for. Mostly we drift over good looking bottom and over wrecks in 100 - 160 FOW. Hope this helps - also check out our videos very carefully for rigging tips and how we are fishing an area. -Capt Dan
