I love how detailed and informative this video is! I naturally have built similar foot placement and carve control from longboarding(Penny 22"), and after your helpful tips on floating I now feel more confident making the switch when my time arrives(3 days) thank you so much(subbed!)

You said xr has not a round tyre so what model of tyre do you recommend to perfect and easy carving on xr? Hosier? Burris? Slick or not? Which size? I am looking for the same sensation as snowboard, the closest one. Thanks

Considering carving coming from 🏂 Iam trying to lean into the carve as much as possible. How low can you go while carving? The perfect carve on a snowboard meant lying almost flat on the piste
@FloridaFloatBrothers
@FloridaFloatBrothers 4 жыл бұрын
I did not mention them or use them in the video, but riding with flightfins locks your feet in better so that you can really lean hard into the carves. I typically ride with flightfins so I can lean way harder without feeling like I'm going to fall off

So it is mostly on the backfoot? Lately, I have been thinking about it too much. As I turn, I am starting to feel I am sliding off the board. It feels inertia is sliding my backfoot off of the board. Although in reality, my foot is still in the same place. For reference, I have the Pro Fusion footplate.

Unrelated question - do flight fins make it harder to bail if I have to jump off for some reason or in the event of a nosedive?
@FloridaFloatBrothers
@FloridaFloatBrothers 4 жыл бұрын
While they feel super secure when using them, they are actually surprisingly easy to get your feet in and out of (because of the way they're angled). I have had to bail once while using them and didn't really notice a difference than bailing without flightfins

If I'm carving and feel like I'm going through a cycle of speeding up and slowing down, is that possibly an indication that i'm shifting my body too much front to back?
@FloridaFloatBrothers
@FloridaFloatBrothers 4 жыл бұрын
Yes it could. Have you tried doing very slow gradual carves while focusing on maintaining a constant speed?

Small carves, more weight on your back foot - that's probably because your rear foot is slightly closer to the tire. If you put your front foot closer to the tire (compared to your rear foot), there will be more weight on your front foot. With the foot angle you are using it definitely makes sense to have the weight more on your rear foot, because you have more control over the wobble of the board when your foot is perpendicular to the tire rotation.

@@BambooScar It's a 3rd party tire for the OneWheel XR. I've only ridden the stock Vega tire and the Whisper but I gotta say it's a world of difference. It carves, it's nimble it's silent, and is just an all-around joy to ride. Google: FF hoosier whisper and you'll get the flight fins page that sells it.

How deep can you carve with the pint, & what happens when u carve too deep eg face plant, back fall or does it stall? Any answers help I'm new to the stoke machine
@yourmom8739

If u carve toooo hard the board will roll over. If u angle too much the board will just continue straight and u will most likely fall off. But thats in extreme conditions. You will know the limit after a minute or too.
