You are making some really absurd assumptions. Gov. DeSatan is responsible for the hard working Hispanic population exodus plain and simple. My cousin said her Muslim neighbor had found the town to be very welcoming. Six miles off the Interstate should make this town a hidden gem and one day it will be a gem not a ghost town. Retirees, are you listening?

Mmmm no. This is NOT along i75. It's NEAR the interstate yes, but not along it. This is 129 & it connects to 41

Sir you have no idea of what you’re saying. Maybe instead of riding around and assuming the reason Jasper looks as it does is that the people of Jasper run people out stop and talk to people. As someone who was 3rd or 4th generation born in Jasper I can tell you that you are ABSOLUTELY WRONG. I find your description of Jasper very very offensive!!

I looked in Zillow and there weren’t any other houses available other than that one you pointed out. I wonder if everyone is retired there or if a big corporation bought up a bunch.

The way I see it now, florida is just a waste land. The poor should get out of there. Let the rich have it. The rich like wasting their money.

Southern Life… Hamilton county and quite a few other N Fla counties and towns have always been not very progressive and welcoming to outsiders. It’s almost like if you’re not related to the folks in the area they are suspicious of you and will shun you. I know this because my family goes way back in N Florida. My ancestors were from nearby Madison and Jefferson counties. My grandmother and grandpa were from that area.

Get your butts out of your car and walk around. While the downtown is nothing like it was 30 or 40 years ago there are many very nice homes in the southeast corner of town and north of the old high school. It’s a great place to retire. Much better than overcrowded and overpriced southwest Florida.

There's hundreds if not thousands of small towns in the south dying off . A trend that started long before these storms. Why? The smart kids leave for the cities. Because there's no future in these towns . These towns actually NEED immigrants to survive.
@Humptydumptytribe3 ай бұрын
That town hit the skids WAY before the latest hurricane, and before the first Hispanic person ever moved there or out of there. Drive up and down the road, as you did, and you can see example after example of what happens when you "let people live." They live like pigs in a sty. Nobody is going to "move to Jasper and start a business." That statement and your entire premise of this video is absurd. My guess is even that building was collapsed well before that hurricane. I am surprised the entire "business district" did not come down.
