Good evening Jose and Katie, this reminds me heading down Michigan Ave in the D during the evening. I remember going through Jacksonville 30 plus years ago, somethings simply change for the worse. You folks stay safe and you know what to watch out for. .. God Bless

It tickles me why people get offended about Hood videos when there's one in every city, white ,black ,Hispanic etc. I'm born and raised in Jacksonville. This place used to be straight gutta.💯 They're just starting to clean things up in certain areas but it's pushing it out further.

I grew up in Downtown Jacksonville. That area has deteriorated in the past 15 years to what it is now. When the economy tanked in 2008 the amount of homeless people increased in Jacksonville and it has gotten progressively worse ever since. When I was a child NONE OF THOSE AREAS had homeless people in them. The entire city has gone straight to hell since my childhood. I used to walk through those areas as a teen going to do things for my mother. It was Safe back then. Now it is too dangerous for ANYONE TO BE OUT THERE LET ALONE A KID. Jacksonville has gone straight to hell in the past 15 years. Anyone that says different is just running their mouths or hasn't been here long enough to know anything. I know what has happened because I lived it from my childhood up until the present day.

They went through the west side then the north side then through downtown and then south west The west side of JAx has always been a hood with old abandoned industrial parks etc and older homes and poorer people now if you go to the East toward the beaches and then south the neighborhoods are newer and much nicer.

The problem here is you went to the WEst Side of Jax which is a well known run down ghetto and older working class industrial parks . Problem with this video is downtown jacksonville has always been shady. Unless you are near the southbank (even then you'll run across) you're not safe really. Springfield is even worse, where the indie rockers are. Best bet is Nocatee, New Baymedows, Hodges, Kernan, it's hot spots that are good. Lot's changed after 2020 and they flew in a lot of illegals into country so in time core Jax (Regency, Downtown, Arlignton, Sandalwood, eventually Kernan, Cobblestone) all those areas will be the new hoods. It's sad but things change. I lived there from 1988 to 2015 and I've seen the city at a time get better (2000 to 2016) then it started declining fast. I left the city for better economic opportunity down south in my career and ended up hating it all. If you have money Jacksonville, FL is great. It's the type of city that you have to know someone (I think everywhere tbh), esp as the economic hard times hit. It will be a pay to play world and the poor will watch the cost of living sky rocket this next decade!
