I moved from Washington state when I retired as a builder developer to Madison Alabama. I am so tired of ignorant people saying why would I retire in Alabama you are very wealthy you could live anywhere. I tell them I am a Christian conservative Man and look at the top schools in Madison Alabama, they are some 9f the best in the Country. People need to experience Alabama not just what they see on tv. Great video brother.

Never go into a store in small town Alabama if you're in a hurry. Everyone knows everyone so there are conversations at checkout. Guaranteed. Love it.

That's really weird to me because here in California that's considered to be rude. If you aren't hurrying so the people behind you can check out, then you are seen as being inconsiderate.

@@kassie4426 yes, but most the time, we move out of checkout to continue the conversation or multitask and say our quick goodbyes after we’ve paid. There are definitely some inconsiderate ppl, but you won’t escape that anywhere.

I’ve been in Enterprise for a little more than 10 years now. I like it a lot. 30min to Dothan if you need some “city time”, PC beach or Montgomery in a hour and a half. Lake Eufaula in less than 2 hours. Really, most of what I need is right here though. Clean, well kept and friendly. The military being here makes for a diverse population. The circle lay-out works ok but traffic is beginning to be a small problem, I’d like to see someone hired by the city who has training in traffic management, the timing of the signals could be improved.

Blount County, AL is beautiful, the waterfalls, covered bridges and cliffs call a lot of us outside 🌳❤️ kayakers come from everywhere to enjoy our river ❤️ also, Blountsville, AL has a water park called Spring Valley Beach, it’s pretty big considering the small town and it’s a lot of fun.

The crime in Birmingham is so bad, people in North Jefferson County prefer to shop in Cullman. Two Walmart Super-centers, Belks, Publix, Lowes, the typical chains and franchises with all ran extremely well. Amazing eateries, The All Steak, 412 Public House, Shrimp Basket, Busy Bee Diner, Duchess Bakery to name a few. And the BEST vet in the world, Lee’s. Veterinarian Hospital, they take care of cattle, domestic pets and exotics. Cullman is a diamond of Alabama. ❤

Cullman is now a very different place than it used to be VERY different. The population is much more diverse now & with all kinds of new stores & restaurants. It used to have a very bad reputation; racist, which it truly deserved at that time ! But not now ! And it is truly one of the cleanest towns one could ever go to ! Shockingly clean !

Now I wouldn’t recommend anyone move there unless you’re fine with driving 20-30min to any of the neighboring towns (Montgomery, Tallassee, Tuskegee, Auburn) for routine needs because there isn’t much there. I’m currently in PHENIX City which is in close proximity to Columbus GA and between the two you will find everything you need.
