Ocala always has some place to wheel. Some a bit too narrow, but still fun if you don't have issues with pin striping. The new Jeeps were cringing...

I rode through some of those trails today in a '21 Gladiator. I had to stop many times to cut back brush because I wasn't going to get scratched up. It may be something to consider for the group to take a day, assign each Jeep a trail and have them properly clear it. I'd be happy to volunteer. I was driving trails for about 3-4 hours and most of that time was spent cutting back brush with a Sawzall and one incident of winching a decent size pine off the trail. I also own a mini pole chainsaw that would've made the process faster and will bring it next time.

Make sure you check with the Rangers office, they have some strict rules out there. The office is on 19 just south of Altuna.

I went with my old unlimited and scratched the crap out of it too, I'm not doing that to the gladiator now. There's other places to go that won't destroy the paint. 😂

Hello I stumbled across your page, I used to run and start Palm Beach offroad and adventures and then slowly got away from it and joined the Jupiter Jeep club I've had about 8 jeeps currently I have a 81 Jeep scrambler but I'm looking at the new Rubicon model so I can do some driving to an event and then driving the same Jeep at an event I'd love to hook up with you guys and do the Ocala national forest

I have done this in my 2WD Ford Ranger it is a standard model it has helper springs which give it more traction so far I have not gotten stuck in the Goethe State State Forest I went through some pretty deep creeks across the road and it was scary.

2WD can make it more funner... I got stuck out at the stand in a Toyota 2WD back in 87. It was a long walk out.

I am someone interested in going off-roading but do not currently have an off-road capable vehicle. I live in the greatest Orlando area and would absolutely pay for gas and any food for the trip. It's just something I always want to do but currently can't. Sort of a bucket list item.

There are plenty of the trails we have featured that even a car could do. Apopka Wildlife drive, Tosahatchee, Black Point. Alll those are real easy and provide places to see Natural Florida.

This was a trail that was known to be in less than used condition. But a good test for the YJ. Up next is the Tread Lightly Four Wheel Drive Way trail.

We could have used them this day. Cool trails and there were a lot of areas that were clear. It took around 5 hours including lunch for the ride.

When we get it all organized I will post up some times for a run that is not a Jeep club run. I used to ride with a guy who had a Suzuki on 42s with a V8, it was unstoppable. He called it "Mudzilla" That was back when the clay pits were still open.

They are doing a clean up on the 8th and perhaps that will trim back some of the trees. We should be heading back out sometime this month for the southern part.

Yes - definitely. There are so many trails and roads that could be done in 2WD. Driving around the bombing range is wide open.

I have found myself in similar situations in Ocala, but not on purpose! Not quite ready to pinstripe my 2017 quite yet. I’ve already scraped up my rear side windows a bit in those places. Would love to meet you guys though! My wife and I may be out on a ride tomorrow in Ocala. Hope to see you.

Love it. By the way, its up to 1080 for me at 630 est...... Getting their Trail Badge, it has motivated me to come down from St Augustine and complete the 81 mile adventure. Stock Sport JLU with Rubicon tires.... Think I will be ok?

Some of that is the tread lightly trail on the part that is south of 40. I don't like scratchy stuff.

Yes there are, we went today to hunt down the Tread Lightly Four Wheel Drive Way badge area and there are endless dirt roads and trails. Just don't go in areas marked off for smaller side by sides and dirt bikes. See the map link in the comments.

They post them before they finish finalizing. Hmmm I still see some even when set at 1080. It was rendered in 4K but its not showing yet. It's a pretty big file so some times it takes hours.
