Deliberately running someone down with a vehicle is attempted murder. Why does the chief need to "see if" there was wrong doing done by the Officer?

You are the damned chief. You saw the video. You can interview your employees and you can take action if necessary. I don't understand what you do to justify your paycheck.

He is not a prosecutor. He's a Police Chief. He's doing the right thing. The officer is suspended. Quit being a creep.

@@g.m.c.6606 Doesn't take a prosecutor to decide if your employees violated policies. I guess a shithead like you won't agree with that either.

Heard from a reporter on Twitter that did a story for a different station that they have not released the name of the detective. If you know his name please contact us at copblaster.com

It seems as though to me that mostly all or the majority (not all but the majority) of these unfortunate incidents involving police and civilians happen to people with not so squeaky clean backgrounds. They have some sort of charges against them (possibly wanted for something). Or was doing some sort of criminal minded activity before getting into to it with the police. For instance 1.Travon Martin doing dumb stuff at the liquor/convenient store and drawing waaay to much attention to himself. 2. Mike Brown "smoking weed in the middle of the street" drawing waaaaay to much attention to himself in broad daylight. Prior to walking down the middle of the street Mike Brown "beat up a liquor/convenient store attendant" then proceed to "steal Marijuana rolling papers and other items". 3. George Floyd known drug addict. "Meth and Fentanyl user" and was "pasing counterfeit fake 20 dollar bills" at the liquor/convenient store. 4. Now this guy in Florissant who was wanted as a suspect for a "gun shooting at the police station". Overall, the outcome is unfortunate for the first 3 mentioned above. Because there life shouldn't have been taken. But it seem as though to me if you don't get involved with drugs or any type of criminal activity you won't end up involved with police and possibly dead. This goes for black people and white people or just people in general what ever race you are. Finally, just stay out of trouble. Be Cool. L8TR!

The outcome in the 3rd incident isn't "unfortunate", it's a crime, and the officer has been properly charged. There's no proof that the man arrested in the this incident in Florissant had anything to do with any shooting at a police station. No weapon was ever found.

@@cunard61 Thanks for the info. The George F incident seems to have been a crime committed by the suspect (being Mr Floyd) which had an "unfortunate" horrible outcome. Also a crime was committed by the officer which lead to a horrible "unfortunate" outcome by the officer.. Two crimes were committed between both parties which lead to "unfortunate" horrible outcomes.

How about Police Departments stop Hiring Cops with Past Issue, who have been Investigated before for Abusing their Positions of Power's? Why do these kind of Situations always Involve Cop's with a 'Not so Squeaky Clean' past Record...why are they even hired as Police Officer's with the kind Past Records that no Cop should ever have. Seriously...Tax Payers pay these Cop's, and these Cop's hit People of the Community they're suppose to Protect with Police Cars and then Assault them after hitting with a Car...seriously? All Police Departments should be Defunded to create a New Law Enforcement Department where Enforcement Officers are subject to suffer Consequences for their Misconducts or for Abusing their Positions of Power.

@@MrLTLB how about civilians stop antagonizing a situation which usually leads to an unfortunate circumstance. Today's generation, which were BeBe's Kids back in the mid to late 80's through the early 90's, dont like anyone with authority telling them what to do. A Police Officer has authority and tries to upheld rules, regulations, and laws governed by a particular state. Thus providing some sort of structure. In doing so a Law Enforcement Official sometimes but mostly has to tell people what to do. In today's society this generation which were BeBe Kids back then are now BeBe Adults don't want to hear someone in uniform telling them what to do. This comes from the BeBe Kid generation not having a STERN father figure in the household providing structure. Now what you have is a bunch of 20 - 30 yr olds running around in society with no foundational structure causing chaos and disorder which leads to some sort of conflict with a Police Officer ending in an unfortunate situation. L8TR 💥👊💥!

Whatever someone's criminal history is does NOT give any police officer justification to administer their own version of justice.
