I really can't pinpoint or articulate what it is about Florist's-or other DDW mainstays like Hannah Read's-style that is so immensely, profoundly nostalgic for me, even when it's songs I've never even heard before. It's that kind of nostalgia that takes me to a time in my very early childhood, to my first memories, that makes me feel simultaneously like there's a deep smoldering hole inside of me, and yet like I'm full to the brim with life and love at the same time. Like walking outside in late November when the first chilly breeze of winter drifts through the air all the while the southern Louisiana sun burns bright in the clear blue sky. Like smelling a scent I haven't smelled in 20 years and being transported back to a vague and fuzzy distant memory from another time, another life. I could just lose my mind listening to this music, in the best way possible. Thank you to Emily and Florist and everyone involved for giving me a chance to grasp at something that I'll never get to touch again.

it's pretty shitty, and if it's considered a top album for the year, i feel sorry for the generation that has to compromise with this as "good" ... so, again, i'm sorry man, music was so much better in the 60s 70s 80s 90s 00s, we wronged you, you deserve better, your ears deserve better. Just because i don't consider a CAN SOUP (Warhol reference) as art doesn't mean it is simply because you "get it". Florist is a can of soup. You can't compare that to a masterpiece. It's at best an average album, this is proof as to how mediocre music has become. You have made absolutely no argument at all.
